When Arthur pulled Excalibur from the stone, he had a dream. This dream was of a golden city that he would devote to peace and prosparity, and it's name would be Camelot. Arthur did indeed build this golden city which became the capital for his great kingdom. While historians do not agree where Camelot was located, they do agree that it did exist.
Camelot was renound throughout England, even with it's fall at the end of King Arthur's reign. Camelot was the start of Arthur's quest to unite all of england and to drive away the Saxons and the French. While there are no known records or blueprints of how the accual city was build, it could easily be identified by the pendragons flying atop it's towers. This symbol was used by Uther Pendragon and was kept alive by Arthur in honor of his father.
So what happend to Camelot after the death of it's King? Just like what happend to Arthur, nobody is sure what happend to the great city of Camelot. The city was probably destroyed in the years of civil war in England that followed Arthur's death. Although the city is gone, the tales of it's knights still live on.

Chivalry, The Idea That Founded A Kingdom
.
Defeaned the weak, serve your king, give honor to your lady, and above all never battle for worldly reasons. These are the rules of chivalry that King Arthur based his entire kingdom upon. Chivalry is more of a model for an ideal society rather than a realalistic dream, but never the less the idea of chivalry has lasted clear to modern day. All of the Knights Of The Round Table and the rest of Arthur's subjects were expected to live by the code of chivalry. Even in the face of dangerous battle the knights of Camelot still upheld to there code of chivalry and in many cases that code saved them.
