Nanya - the Flame that will not be Extinguished
Nanya grew up around Palfray Keep and the village of Thurmaster. After finding out that crime does not pay especially when there is a contract out for your death she had to find another way to survive. She approached the wizard patron - Tauster (a Flame wizard who was hiding out in Thurmaster from his brother wizards in Rager) of her younger brother Waith. She convinced Tauster to take her on as another apprentice.
It was here that the adventuring partner ship of Nanya and Brimstone was born. Brimstone was a fellow apprentice and together they fell into many misadventures, scrapes and a few truly heroic quests. Tauster was extremely old when he took on the rambunctious pair as apprentices and they put him through many trials and tribulations that were probably not very good for his health. They did however, donate a large amount of treasure to the Flame Guild (by this time Waith had convinced Tauster that his old foes were probably no longer alive and it would be safe to run a guild) including funding the stables and libraries.
Their biggest and most lasting find was the tome of vast Knowledge that they donated to the guild. The Guild allowed others to consult the Tome (for a price) and grew into one of the leading guilds of the realm. Tauster was alive to see his guild flourish but passed away of extreme old age before the guild hit it's highest point.
Brimstone eventually embraced the flame and become a living embodiment of it's properties. He joined with other heroes and heroines to battle darkness and ignorance. Unfortunately he surrendered too far to the flame and fell into it's fiery embrace. The tale of his downfall and eventual recovery can be heard in taverns across the land.
Nanya took a different path - she had heard Tauster speak of the Secret flame in Rescauloster that had been long lost to Fire Wizards. Vowing to visit the temple of the Secret Flame she journeyed across the plane of fire via Spirekeep's portal and eventually exited in Rescauloster. With the help of Gahal (currently the Paladin of the Secret Flame) she restored the secret flame and is the current Revered Grandmistress of the Secret Flame.
Nanya's contact with the flame has greatly extended her life and she looks no older than the day she arrived at the temple.
