Public Perception

Mythtropolis Gazette. Spider is a menace. He terrorises the innocent gods-fearing folk of Mythtropolis. He's a glory seeker, constantly "rescuing" or "helping" people in distress. He probably put them in danger in the first place! He's a vigilante. And vigilantes have no place in Mythtropolis. I mean White Owl and Red Robin are a different story - they're news! This Spider fellow is a public menance. He should be arrested. He probably doesn't pay his taxes either.

Ordinary Citizen. Well he must be a menace mustn't he? The Gazette usually praises the heroes and meta-humans, so he can't be one of them. Mind you, he stopped some of those Iron Network rough-necks from harming old Borris the other week. Why would he do that? And he did stop that Zombie attack just the other day. He used those creepy webs of his. It's really quite odd. Spider seems okay. He just creeps me out I guess.

Mythtropolis Blues. Spider is currently wanted to "disturbing the peace" by the Blues. He has fled attempted custody on several occassions, which does not aid his cause. Off the record, he helped "net us" several of the Iron Network's people - I guess he has a grudge of some kind? He has worked with Mystery and White Owl in the past, and I think he was involved in that business with Ragnarok in the harbour, although on what side we're not quite sure. I can only assume it was with Ironthorn and the others. We're not a fan of Spider but with the Zombie War and the fallout from the War on Crime, we have better things to do with our time than hunt down a rogue-vigilante. The Blues urge citizens to treat Spider as dangerous and not to approach or attempt to apprehend him.

Fact.

Spider is the son of the legendary vigilante Stryfe, the Masked Rogue, and the super-villanous Dark Elf Queen known as Sapphire Spider. Destined to be used by his mother as a sacrifice to dark gods, Spider was rescued by his father and raised by him in the City Beyond the Sky - The Sorcerors Stand. While living with his father on The Stand Spider was shown the worlds. He met the gods and demi-gods that lived in and visited the City Beyond the Stars. Spider lived with his father in the catacombs beanth the City Beyond the Stars and learned some of his father's skills. Spider is quite young, barely 15, but has taken on his fathers mantle by choosing to help the people of Mythtropolis as best he can.

The Outsiders

Spider is a member of the team known as The Outsiders, a motley collection of super-powered beings formed around The Dreamer in 1101YAC to combat out-planar and god-level threats to the World of Mystery. Other members include Snake Charmer, the Child of Yig and Bloodchild, the Urumancer. While Spider might seem WAY outclassed in such company, and he is, there is always room for a rogue able to think on his feet and act quickly. So far Spider has managed to pull his wieght with his more powerful comrades through feats of quick and fearless action.

POWERS

Spider has some of both his mothers and fathers abilities and could therefore be class as a super-hero. He has a "bump", a knack for rogue abilities and particularly for climbing and leaping and the other spider-like abilities of the Crintri (1/2 Dark Elves). Spider was trained by his father, the Masked Rogue as a Shadowblade rogue.

Paraphenalia of Spider. Spider wears two "web-shooters", specially designed by Spider and made by The Dreamer. These "web-shooters" allow Spider to use his amazing rope-swinging, trapping and rope-use abilities for non-lethal entangling attacks, as well as to swing through the city at great speed. He wears a costume gifted to him by his father on the Sorceror's Stand. The costume is a dark blue and light blue body suit, adding to his ability to stay hidden in the darkness. The material the costume is made from grants him resistance from forms of attack such as flame, cold, electricity, acid and gas. Made from the skin of some great space-beast the costume also grants him physical resistance to some attacks and so acts as armour whilst still being unencumbering. The suit also comes with Underdark Goggles which shield his eyes from blinding attacks. Spider's other weapons include two wrist-bows (with a variety of bolts) and an extendable staff he also uses for pole-vaulting and more physical combat.

As a boy I read the Marvel comic of SPIDERMAN and loved it. That comic got me interested in comics in general and started a very enjoyable hobby. While Spider is not super-powered the way Spiderman is, it is very cool that now I can play a similar type character - the young vigilante do-gooder, with Stan Lee's example of Spiderman to look up to. So heads-up true believers! Look out, look out, here comes the Spider.
