WHAT PRICE VICTORY?
The portents of our doom have ceased. The Nameless Evil that was awakening to the north has been defeated. The Silver Knot, who swore to stop the evil or die trying must have surely won. But they have returned to us changed, seemingly infected by the very evil they strove to stop.
Ironthorn, a living symbol of nature and Right, has attacked and savagely beaten simple farmers and workers in a Mythtropolis bar. Captain Rock, who has stated many times his love for this city, has gone berserk and destroyed sections of the city in his rage. Cardinal, the Air Templar has terrorized the human and demihuman populace of this fair city. Bud, the friendly plant-man, has struck out against the common folk with all the mindless fury of the monster he claims not to be. And what has happened to the rest of the Silver Knot that stood and fought to save us all?
With the extinction level threat to the world ended, it seems obvious the Silver Knot must have won their battle, but at what cost. Half their number missing, the other half insane. While White Owl and Mystery still remain, will they aid the kingdom as it tries to give their team-mates the help they so desperately need? We can but shake our heads as we remember the heroes they once were and try to decide how to deal with their insanities now.
TRUE SILVER KNOT TEAM RETURNS - HEROIC TEAM VINDICATED
Led by Wilderness Champion Ironthorn of the Westshire, the true Silver Knot has returned to Mythtropolis, quickly dealing with the villainous impostors, THE ELEMENTS OF SURPRISE, and clearing the revered name of the world‘s premier super-team.
Adopting a new tact, the Silver Knot entered the Temple of Elemental Evil and avoided conflict with the forces of the Nameless Evil led by Azal as they sought to end the extinction level threat directly by destroying the dark god.
Negotiating their way past tricks and traps, the Silver Knot cut directly to the heart of the issue, creating the bane weapon needed to destroy the avatar of the Nameless Evil. Honours go to Delilah the half-Jungle Giant who proved her worth well and truly by destroying the dark god with the bane weapon created by the team, ending the extinction level threat posed by this ancient dark god once and for all.
In a testament to the Silver Knot the avatar destroyed was the second one of the Nameless Evil, its first avatar having been slain in short order by the team led, once again, by the noble and deadly Ironthorn.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO CAPTAIN ROCK?
During the Silver Knot’s descent into the Temple, Captain Rock was hit by an energy blast and vaporised, with even his legendary skin proving useless against the energy blast. The Silver Knot was devastated, but with time against them, raced ahead to do destroy the dark god and so avenge their fallen team-mate. It is a testament to their morale and discipline that the loss of one of their founding members did not prevent the team from carrying out their self-sworn duty.
And yet when the Silver Knot returned from the saving the world yet again, they found Captain Rock alive and well, waiting for them in their stronghold, the Silver Tower. Returned unharmed form his apparent destruction, it seems Captain Rock is harder to keep down than anyone thought. So far the usually garish super-hero has remained tight-lipped about the experience.
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM THEIR FRIENDs
While the Silver Knot battled the forces of the Nameless Evil, a local peasant hero called Red Robin joined in, playing a crucial role in the great victory. Red Robin was one of the many women of sacred position, significance or bloodline taken hostage by Azal. Unfortunately for the undead lord, but fortunately for all of us, Red Robin was more than a match for Azal‘s minions.
Freeing herself, Red Robin gained possession of her magical blade, from which she gains her name, and started swinging. Azal had brought forth some 28 avatars, each as powerful beyond imagination as himself and consisting of his own dark energies. Red Robin grimly fought her way out, cutting her way through Azal‘s minions and the avatars of Azal himself. At the end of the battle she destroyed all of Azal‘s avatars and, proclaimed by the avian heralds of bloodlines as a true hero of peasants and common folk, Red Robin saw to the safety of the surviving prisoners.
Joyously greeted by the surviving members of the Silver Knot, Red Robin returned with them to Mythtropolis. Will she join the team? Perhaps fellow “tough on crime” hero White Owl will persuade her?
The Silver Knot were also aided in their quest by two local heroes, Mary and River. These local heroes have chosen to stay on and help guard the lands surrounding the Temple of Elemental Evil.
WHAT IS MOON BEAST?
The Silver Knot have bought back tales of a monstrous beast called MOONBEAST, the strongest there is. This near mindless creature, 12 feet tall, hairy, resistant to magic and impervious to physical harm aided the Silver Knot in an indirect fashion. While Moon Beast did not attempt to directly aid the super-team, it soundly thrashed the forces of the Nameless Evil that got in its way. According to reports when the Moon Beast turned its baleful hateful eyes on the Silver Knot, it recognized Ironthorn. Instead of seeking a confrontation Moon Beast fled, entering the Temple of Elemental Evil and destroying many of the forces of the Nameless Evil and indirectly giving great aid to the Silver Knot as they fought to prevent the extinction level threat from arising.
Moon Beast was last seen in the area of the Temple. The Silver Knot have recommended avoiding the creature, Ironthorn having deemed it as violent, but not evil.
