PSYCHIC SEVEN TRAVELS TO HIGHPORT TO SOLVE MYSTERY OF MISSING TOME OF VAST KNOWLEDGE, END UP FORCED TO FLEE FOR LIVES AS MONSTER MENACE GATHERS!
The young heroes of The Psychic Seven set off for Highport, a city of evil inhabited by intelligent mosnters, humanoids and the barbarians known as the Yellow Sail Slavers.
The team's mission to the city-state began when their mentor, The Silver Seer, revealed that it was possible that Haranlarche's missing artefact, The Tome of Vast Knowledge, might lie in Highport. After sensible precautions were taken and the team was rested and powered up, the Psychic Seven set off via coastal oarship to the cliffs near Highport. There, they found the Shrine of the Saurian Saint and from its promontory navigated their way into the hidden undercity tunnels of Highport, like other heroes before them. It swiftly became a battle of life and death against Atavars, barbarian freeswords and mysterious insect-men...
The team's only apparent ray of hope came when they were assisted by strange glider-monkey creatures which hid in the shadows of the prison complex maintained by the Yellow Sail Slavers. However despite the assistance of the shadowy monkey-people, the team were defeated -- by barbarian troops led by a trio of super-villains!
The villains were each distinctive and powerful: Black Rat-- an extremely fast-moving Rogue whose backstabbing wounded most of the team and nearly killed three of them; Citizen Valence-- a Sorceress with command over the lightning and thunder; and a cloaked figure within whose hood lights (or stars) moved, known to the Yellow Sail Slavers as The Star-Hood-- whoever or whatever it was, it possessed strength enough to pound Gromkin unconscious and shrug off the wildmagical spellfire of Wyldfire!
The Psychic Seven eventually had to flee back into the undercity and down to the marshy lagoon where they had left their dragonboat - only to discover that the Yellow Sail Slavers had torched it! Hiding out for three days, the team made a seaworthy raft and set off into the shipping lanes, fortunately being found by an Ienian trader rather than one of the slavers' ships. The Ienians took the team back to Mythtropolis, from where they retreated to their tower in the village of Spirekeep.
