THE WAR OF THE ELEMENTS PART IV
CAPTAIN ROCK! BLACKFOOT THE WITCH! IRONTHORN THE DESTROYER! DOG THE SWIFT! BUD! O'RYAN THE ARCHER! CARDINAL! KING OF DIAMONDS! Heroes one and all, they are sworn enemies of all who would disrupt the weave of existence! Together they are the Silver Knot -- an unstoppable force for good in an ever more troubled cosmos...
THE SILVER KNOT RETURNS FROM AN ELEMENTAL PRISON AND DIVES INTO NEW BATTLES
Once more the Silver Knot struggled free of the elemental prison that their enemy Tarrasco "Liontooth" Gamlir continually consigned them to. This time on their return to the Prime they dived into action at once, striking back at their powerful enemies...
Joined by their new ally Cardinal (a birdlike genie-spawn air elemental crusader) the Silver Knot homed in on their enemies' stronghold in Mythtropolis. Captain Rocco utilised the uncanny senses he possesses when in his beloved cityscape and found the lair of the villainous wizard Tarrasco, together with his evil allies Helvacar the Hag and the monstrously evil Life Wizard Garygarus.
The team struck swiftly and effectively, each stanza of the battle begun with the sweeping superhuman speed of Dog, now gifted it seems with the velocity of a magical missile. For once, the Bards will not sing of a flawless victory won by Ironthorn; it was Dog and Blackfoot who chased the villains from their lair and rescued heroic Cardinal after the air-man had cast flame about him and driven the miscreants into the street.
The villains met up with the Sanctioner of the Plane of Fire in the smoking and fiery landscape of the City Northern Dump, where battle royal was joined.
Captain Rock clumsily crashed the team's wondrous airship 'The Silver Shot' with no great ill effects as the terrifying fury of nature was channelled by Blackfoot, and the fleet feet of 'Dog the Barbarian sped him away from the vicious spell assaults of Tarrasco. Aided by the powerful King of Diamonds, and watched on by Ironthorn and the rest, the heroes fought it out with the villains, destroying all of them.
NEW HAVOC IN THE ELVEN QUARTER -- REPUBLIC FIRST PARTY PROMISES PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY INTO "HAZARDOUS" ELVES
The Silver Knot spoiled all but one of the villains' plans - High Cleric Ramsey of the Hunter Cult returned to his temple in the Elven Quarter of Mythtropolis. A magical explosive hidden inside his body detonated, destroying him and the church in a black radiance conflagration. There were no survivors. Shortly after Ironthorn somehow mystically crossed the distance from the capital to the county seat of his family in Treekeep, foiling a similar plan there. Grief almost more than hero can bear was Ironthorn's lot; not only did the parishioners in Mythtropolis lose their lives, but amongst them was Ironthorn's beloved Silver Elf, the blind seeress of the militia known as Moonlight.
Truly was it the heroic vision come to life as passersby and visitors to the Ogre Shipping Company where Ironthorn oft spends his time marvelled at the wilderness avenger's compsure and discipline. He does his teachers -and his blood- proud. True it is that he is a prince imperial born.
JACKANAPES CAUGHT BY THE SILVER KNOT, ESCAPES ALMOST AT ONCE
A type of villain not seen for decades has reappeared in the capital - a costumed miscreant and murderous scofflaw. The evil Jester, calling himself Jackanapes, was caught and left for the Silver Knot to find by a mysterious rogue. Taking the villain into custody and donating the reward for his capture to charity, the Silver Knot felt great consternation as Jackanapes escaped his secure cell in the Bitterstone underground prison beneath the capital. The evil Jester is now at large somewhere in the sewer system.
GREEN FIREBALLS SEEN IN IENOS CITY AS TOP ASTRONOMER DIES
Ienos City - capital of the New Trade Confederacy of Ienos, formerly the Royal Ierendi Isles - has been the scene of an amazing pyrotechnic display, with a swirling mass of green flame sitting atop the city's tallest building, the President Oskar Observatory. Shortly after the strange energy effect ended, Lord High Astronomer Girild was found, dead, at the base of the tower. It seems the freak weather or elemental effect startled him during his delicate investigations of the heavens and he lost his footing, falling the 404 feet of the tower to his death in the Courtyard of Peaceful Profit below. Ienos Militia have ruled his passing accidental death.
