PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Player of the week for (May 17th - May 23rd) is 1B Jimmy (The Beast) Foxx of St. Louis. This is the second time Jimmy has been named the player of the week this season and was player of the month in April. Jimmy batted .500 (10-20) in five games with a slugging average of 1.000. He amassed two home runs, two doubles and a triple with ten runs batted in and scored six times. Double XX had three game winning RBI during the week and had an extra base hit in all but one game. Jimmy led the league in Home Runs and RBI this week.Other Player of the Week Candidates:
SP - Tommy Bridges of Montgomery who was 2-0 on the week with an ERA of 1.13 allowing only two earned runs in sixteen innings with one complete game and five strikeouts.
SS - Joe Cronin of Harlem who batted .550 (11-20) with three doubles, five runs batted in and five runs scored.
2B - Charlie Gehringer of North Dallas who batted .483 (14-29) with two doubles and a triple, knocked in six runs, scored seven times and stole two bases.
1B - Lou (The Iron Horse) Gehrig of Freemont who batted .444 (8-18) with one home rune, one triple and one double, knocked in six runs and scored twice.
