PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Player of the week for (May 3rd - May 9th) is OF Joe (Ducky) Medwick of Pawtucket. For the week Joe batted .440 (11-25) with one home run, four doubles and a triple and had a slugging percentage of .800. He racked up two RBI and scored six times himself. He had a seven game hitting streak which ended on the last day of the week when he failed to get a base hit. He had two or more hits in three of seven games on the week and in four of the seven games he had extra base hits

OF - Paul (Big Poison) Waner of Montgomery who for the week batted .444 (12-27) with a double and a triple, knocked in three runs and scored seven times.

OF - Mel (Master Melvin) Ott of North Dallas who for the week batted .393 (11-28) with a slugging percentage of .667, with one home run and three doubles, knocked in nine runs and scored four times.

SP - Huck Betts of Pawtucket who for the week was 2-0 with an ERA of 1.69 allowing three earned runs in sixteen innings pitched.
SP - Guy (The Mississippi Mudcat) Bush of St. Louis who for the week was 2-0 with an ERA of 2.30, allowing four earned runs in 15 2/3 innings pitched while striking out six.
