WEEK 9, 1932



FURTRADERS, 40 HOLD ON
Fremont (37-23) continued to hold on to their 2 game lead over Harlem (35-25), who have won six in a row. 
Pawtucket (30-31) is still looking to solve it's hitting woes, and Sahara (27-32) is waiting in the wings, 
hoping for a summer assault.
North Dallas (33-27) had a tough week, but still manage to have a 2 game lead over Montgomery (30-28). 
St Louis (27-31) is still playing good baseball, and are poised to make a run at North Dallas. 
Hattiesburg (19-40) continues to struggle. 



PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR MAY
Al Simmons
Player of the month for the month of May 1932 is Outfielder Al (Bucketfoot) Simmons of St. Louis 
who for the month batted .293 (34-116) and a slugging percentage of .664 amassing thirteen homeruns, 
four doubles, 22 runs batted in and scored 22 runs himself. Al is quietly having another MVP season 
and is one of the league leaders in homeruns, runs batted in and hits. Al had ten multiple hit games, 
six multiple RBI games and five multiple run games and had three multiple home run games and finished 
the month with back to back two home run games. 


PITCHER OF THE MONTH FOR MAY
George Earnshaw
Pitcher of the Month for the Month of May 1932 is SP George (Moose) Earnshaw of the Sahara Jihad, 
who for the month was 5-0 with an ERA of 1.40 allowing only eight earned runs in 51.33 innings 
pitched. George led the league with three complete games and shutouts with two. For the month 
George struck out seventeen opponents while only walking nine. The Moose was also big at the plate, 
for the month he batted .273 (6-22) with one home run, a double and a slugging percentage of .455. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Rube Walberg
Player of the week for (May 29th – June 4th) is SP Rube Walberg of Freemont who for the week was 
2-0 with two complete games shutouts striking out seven only walking four and allowing only 
five hits. His best performance came on May 29th against North Dallas where he dazzled the Forty 
line-up with his incredible control allowing only one hit in the contest. Rube's other win came 
on June 3rd against Hattiesburg.
