WEEK 5, 1932



FREMONT SKIDS A LITTLE, BUT STILL LEAD BY THREE
Fremont (20-13) had to contend with a four game losing streak, and Sahara (17-16) won 5 of 7 to move within 
three games of first. Harlem and Pawtucket both fins themselves at 16-17, only 4 games off the pace. 

Meanwhile, in the SouthEast, Montgomery (18-14) has held fallen behind North Dallas (19-14) as North Dallas 
took it to Fremont with two big wins. Hattiesburg is in third at 13-20, while St Louis, bolstered by the twin 
combo of George Pipgras (0-5) and Bill Hallahan (0-6) are mired in the cellar at 12-10. 



HATTIESBURG SENDS HACK WILSON TO PAWTUCKET
May 6, 1932 - The Pawtucket Flying Dutchmen have come to terms with the Hattiesburg Doublewides to acquire Hack Wilson. 
The Dutchmen will receive Hack for rookie catcher Frankie Pytlak and a case of baseballs. Frankie has not 
batted yet this year, but is expected to have a long career with the DBS. The case of baseballs was included 
in the trade, because the Doublewides went over budget putting the skirt on the Trailer Park and did not 
have any room left in their budget for supplies. Honus Wagner's remarks on the trade “This trade will 
allow the Dutchmen to have more power in the line-up, we have not had anyone hit over 20 home runs in a 
season after Rogers Hornsby did in 1929.” Hack will be immediately inserted in the starting line-up.






SUGA SMACKS
After a recent layover in Dallas Suga was asked to assess the ability of North Dallas outfielder Babe Ruth. 
Suga's response "He is just another fat guy who swings a heavy bat. But if you ask me his DBS career has 
been a disappointment. It is too bad that the DBS wasn't formed until the late 20's because no matter what 
anyone says Babe Ruth and his "juiced ball" doesn't compare to Gavvy Cravath" Any ya all can quote Suga on that. 


SUGA SMACKS: BAMBINO RETORTS
When asked what he thought about "Suga" Cain, Babe Ruth responded "Who is this Suga Cain, and what does she do?"



SUGA SMACKS: A WORD FROM PAT CARAWAY
I once saw Suga doing a show in the French Quarter of New Orleans. If it wasn't for the Adam's apple, 
I'd swear it was a woman.



PLAYER OF THE WEEK
George Earnshaw
Player of the week for (May 1st – May 7th) is SP George (Moose) Earnshaw of the Sahara Jihad. Moose 
started two games on the week amassing a 2-0 record completing both games one for a shutout. George 
finished with an ERA of 1.00 allowing two earned runs in eighteen innings pitched, striking out eight. 
George was also hot at the plate batting .429 (3-7) with two runs and one run batted in.
