WEEK 1, 1932


FREMONT ROLLS OFF TO HOT START
Fremont (6-1) is off to their best start in team history, as the acquisitions just before Opening Day 
paid off dividends already. Brandt and Root were both very impressive. Harlem (4-3) came off of a split 
with North Dallas to throw consecutive shutouts against Pawtucket (3-4). Sahara (4-3) has been utilizing 
the running game and 18 bases in their first 7 games. Montgomery (4-3) won their first 4 games, sweeping 
in Hattiesburg, before dropping their next 3. North Dallas (3-4) might want to consider just placing 
southoaw Carl Hubbell on the disabled list on opening day, since he's usually there the next day. St Louis 
(2-5) has not hit well, but their pitching is improved, and Hattiesburg's (2-5) have pitched above 
expectations but hit and field horribly.



TRANQUILITY IN ST LOUIS
April 8, 1932 - Despite the Plagues awful start, only two pipe bombs and four shot gun blasts have been 
directed at player dwellings. St. Louis Chief of Police Adam Twelve said, "We are glad that St. Louis 
fans are taking the poor Plague start in stride."



SUGA SMACKS
The Fremont Gazette is going to start running a weekly column called "Suga Smacks" written by 
Fremont Rookie Suga Cain. Suga wants to know what is equal to 2 quality pitchers, two infielders 
and one outfielder" Suga's answer is "nothing unless you live in Dallas then its Chuck Gehringer." 

Fritz Smith from the Fremont Gazette asks Suga Cain what he attributes the fast start of the 
Furtraders to and why Suga has yet to make an appearance. Suga responds "we currently are getting 
some outstanding pitching. That old dude Vance is really throughins smoke for someone who in Bama 
could be my grand pop. Our bats still could come around a bit but when two or three hitters are 
Rook's you need some time. As far as not appearing yet Suga says "when black coffee works just 
fine you don't add the Suga until you have too." Straight from Suga's mouth. 


PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kiddo Davis
Player of the week for (April 3rd – April 9th) is Rookie Outfielder Kiddo Davis of the Sahara Jihad. 
All the rookie did in his first week playing in the DBS is bat .357 (10-28) with 1HR, 2DBL’s, 
knocked in 4 runs, scored 2 times himself and swiped seven bases. With Kiddo running as well as 
he is to start the season, Sahara could be the Hattiesburg of 1932. Kiddo is currently on an eight 
game hit streak and has back-to-back-to-back multiple stolen base games and was 7 of 8 in steal 
attempts on the week.
