HARLEM OVERTAKES SAHARA; LEAD BY 3.5 GAMES

The Harlem Knights (52-33) have continued their winning ways while Sahara (48-36) found themselves falling 3.5 games back after spending one whole day in first place. Pawtucket (38-48) has crawled out of last place, while Fremont (37-49) have lost six in a row.
In the SouthEast, Hattiesburg (45-37) have returned to their winning ways, while Montgomery (44-40) keeps pace, only trailing the DoubleWides by 2 games. North Dallas (40-47) got within 3.5 games before sliding off the pace. St Louis (33-49) is continuing to have trouble, despite changes to bolster their lineup.


PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR JUNE

Chuck Klein

Player of the month for the month of June 1931 is Outfielder Chuck Klein of the Harlem Knights. Chuck batted .362 (42-116) for the month with six home runs, nine doubles, one triple, knocked in twenty runs, scored twenty-five times himself and stole five bases. During the month Chuck had fourteen multiple hit games, including one three hit game, five multiple RBI games including one five RBI game, four multiple run games and two multiple stolen base games. Chuck had a fourteen game hitting streak through the month and is currently on a four game hitting streak. Chuck led the league in Home Runs and runs and was second n RBI�s.

PITCHER OF THE MONTH FOR JUNE

George Blaeholder

Pitcher of the Month for the Month of June 1931 is RHP George Blaeholder of the Sahara Jihad. For the month George was 4-1 with two saves and an ERA of 1.33 allowing six earned runs in 40 2/3 innings. George appeared in eleven games during the month, starting the last two. In his two starts George pitched two complete games, one being a shutout. George finished the month with ten strikeouts against six walks and gave up only thirty-six hits.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sam Gray

Player of the week for (June 26th � July 2nd) is SP Sam (Sad Sam) Gray of Pawtucket. For the week Sad Sam was 2-0 with an ERA of 1.72, allowing only three earned runs over 15 2/3 innings in two starts. Sam has raised his record to 7-1 on the year and has helped pull Pawtucket out of the basement. Sam�s� first win came against Sahara and his second was against North Dallas.
