WOUNDED KNIGHTS REMAIN 1 1/2 GAMES OVER SAHARA

The Harlem Knights (42-30) are still holding on to first place, despite being without outfielder Lefty O'Doul, pitchers Larry French, Red Lucas, and General Crowder. Sahara (40-31) have kept pace with the Knights, and were dealt blows themselves when they lost pitcher Larry Benton for a month, and rookie sensation Vernon Gomez will miss two starts. Fremont (35-39) try to stay in contention, and Pawtucket (32-41) has not been able to climb out of the cellar despite playing a lot better in the NorthEast Division.
Hattiesburg (38-31) has been struggling as of late, winning only 4 of 14 thus far in June, but second place Montgomery (37-35) has been nearly as awful in June (6-11). North Dallas (35-39) has been making some noise, but defending champs St Louis have fallen on hard times at 28-41.
