"My God!"  So are the words of a sullen faced Harry the Blackfish
Jackson when he heard of Al Simmons 23 day injury.  The Blackfish,
physically upset with the injury became desponant and refused to answer
this reporters answer.

LeOtis Sanford, head of Grounds, said, "That Harlem team is a cesspool.
In fact, when Satan needs to defecate I hear he visits the face of each
Harlem Knight."  

Pitcher Dolf Luque took a more balanced approach to the news.  "Al has
been the engine of this team for three years and he was making a run at
another MVP and home run title.  We as a team must rally behind the
chance of going to the World Series.  Our job is harder but not
impossible."  Slugger Jimmie Foxx said, "Let's face it we can not
replace Al, but we still have a very competitive team.  We can not let
this tragedy disable the effort."
