January 2002 Meeting Minutes
DATE: January 3, 2002. Called to order by Grand Knight at 7:36.
ATTENDANCE: Roll call of officers was taken. A quorum was in attendance.
MINUTES OF PRECEEDING MEETING: Read and approved with no corrections.
FORMS 100: Ted Welp and Nick Jagelski expressed interest in joining the Knights. Ronald Dodson’s Form 100 needs to be sent to Supreme. There is a 4th Degree on January 12. There is a 2nd and 3rd Degree at St. Mary’s in Caldwell on Sunday, February 17th.
REPORTS:
Chaplain reported that holiday season is coming to a close. Ash Wednesday masses are at 8 AM and 7 PM. Fr. Dennis encouraged us to attend the continuing lecture series and other adult religious education opportunities. Fr. Hank Steinhoff is in hospital.
Treasurer reported a balance of $1513.31.
Financial Secretary reported we received $100 from Supreme for RSVP, free throw kit arrived, we have 35 out of 40 dues in, need $30 to send to State, owe Supreme $11.75 for supplies, and got a receipt from Walt for Birthright.
Trustees reported that the audit is coming up.
Fraternal activities reports are due to Financial Secretary.
The $200 donation to Fr. Dennis for needy families went toward a bed, dresser, and a bike.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Walt Donovan will chair the next pancake breakfast on January 20th. Several brothers volunteered and Walt received $200 for supplies.
Family Director, Paul Saras updated us on upcoming Family Night, January 19th, potluck dinner and games in the annex.
NEW BUSINESS:
We decided to not have the free throw competition at the church this year.
State Convention meeting is on the 10th, there are 8-10 pages of ads, still need raffle items. Convention is on April 19-21 in Boise.
GUEST SPEAKERS:
District Deputy, Marty Merriman mentioned awards from Supreme for recruitment of Knights and that resolutions are due to State by March 1st.
GOOD OF THE ORDER:
Remember our parish youth director, Jim Robinson, who has back trouble as well as the Tinney family whose son Phil was killed in a shooting accident.
Fr. Dennis led us in the closing prayer.
