August 2001 Meeting Minutes
DATE: August 2nd, 2001.
Called to order by GK Chuck Winn, at 7:38.
ATTENDANCE: Roll call of officers was taken. A quorum was in attendance.
MINUTES OF PRECEEDING MEETING: Since there was no quorum for June and July meetings, a motion was made and carried to forgo reading of the previous minutes.
FORMS 100: Walt Donovan offered his services as membership director. Mike is trying to recruit Dave Tara. Marty presented a list of men in our church who should be contacted for recruitment. There are no Degrees scheduled in the near future.
REPORTS:
Chaplain reminded us to continue to go to church during this busy time of year. August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption—mass at 7 PM. Parish picnic is August 26th.
Treasurer reported a balance of $975.03. Received a check for $100 from Charlotte Gill thanking us for help in moving her. There is a $15 check outstanding.
FS reported that 5 members are in arrears. Marty recommended suspending three of them and retaining the other two. We owe Supreme $76.80 and additional $15.38 for supplies.
Audit is due and trustees will get it finished in the next week.
Larry Connell volunteered to be Program Director. Mike Straight volunteered to do the photo album and be picture taker at events. GK will assign other directors later.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Bylaws were handed out. We delayed the vote until a later meeting so members can read them.
NEW BUSINESS:
Walt reported on a meeting with the new scoutmaster, Kelly Hurley.
A motion was made to raise dues from $25 to $36. Discussed, voted, motion did not carry.
Ross and Paul volunteered to cook at the parish picnic on August 26th. Tom Mike, Matt offered to run the games. Decided to not do piñatas this year.
Pancake breakfast on September 9th—Marty and Mike to co-chair the event. Gave them $275 to purchase supplies.
There is a district wide installation of officers this Saturday night after mass (around 7 PM). It will include 6 councils and will have a potluck dinner after the installation.
GUEST SPEAKERS: none.
GOOD OF THE ORDER:
Fr. Dennis: Update yourselves in our faith. Be open to possibility of attending adult education. Remember these in your prayers, Fr. Pat Russell has pneumonia, Fr. Charlie Fultz broke his leg.
Father Dennis led us in the closing prayer.
