The ones that got away. The Laverda and the Ducati were seriously considered alternatives when the Guzzi was purchased. I don't regret choosing the Guzzi, but it would've been a lot better if I could have afforded to buy one of the others (or both) as well!!
The BSA is a sad story of youthful stupidity. It's 1973, the BSA factory has closed for good, the local dealer has one lonely 1972 650 Thunderbolt on the floor. No warranty, brand new, $1700! I passed it up - partly because it was "only" a single carb. Thunderbolt & not the twin carb. Lightning. Bought a two stroke Kawasaki instead. AGHHH!!!
