Hunter Language
Welcome to a Dictionary of sorts, where I'll try to explain some of the things used within the game. This may get a bit confusing, but try to bear with me, eh?
It's by no means complete yet...
Hunter Language
Called Dekaian by those who speak it, the self-proclaimed "Servant's Tongue" is one of the official languages of Shuurai, right up with Shuuraian Variant Standard and Regional Dialects. Most everyone who was born and raised in Shuurai speaks it along with everything else; the hunters are taught it from the moment they join the ranks... Children raised exclusively by hunters may actually have to learn Standard later in life, as hunters tend to use it so regularly... At least, those who are Shuuraian-born use it. A very difficult language to learn, there's a great deal of import placed on vocal emphasis and emotional inflection...

Noteworthy Terms and Events
- War of the Fall of the Light: A war, 200 years ago, between the hunters and the militaristic capitol of the human world, the Citadel. Hunters mainly inhabit the Shuurai continent, where much of the Old World life remains unchanged by the passage of time, and the Church city of Illumina is located. This was the birth of human dislike towards the hunters, as this was also the first war during which the hunters wielded their magics against human foes. Shortly after the Citadel and its Humanitarian Council decided it was their duty to define 'normal reality', hundreds of hunters were ordered slain due to their refusal to conform to normal society or to join the ranks of the Citadel's rather corrupt military. Ended with the Treaty of Aros, stating hunters will remain as far from the Citadel as possible, unless on official business, and that they have rights to protection while on the continent, as well as diplomatic immunity.
- Rebellion, the: A point, seven hundred years ago, when mankind rebelled against the vampire scourge and fought back. The hunter class was a mere nuisance to vampire kind before the Rebellion, but became a full threat during the early days, when the hunter ranks tripled in number while receiving aid from humans unable to fight. The result of the victory was humans rule the day, vampires rule the night; a bit like it used to be.
- Familial Terms: All hunters believe themselves as outcasts from their families, and they accept one another as family. Brother is the term for hunters of the same qualification; Cousin is for those of different qualifications.Ex. Vampire hunter to vampire hunter: Brother; Vampire hunter to demon hunter: Cousin.
- Council of Elders: A council, directly under the Lord Master in the power scheme, that consists of elder hunters. These men often deem it their business to know everything that happens, and often will try to stop anything they wish to, using any means necessary. There's one for each classification.
- Council of Masters: Directly under the Elder's Council in power, the Council of Masters is perhaps even more shrewd than their superiors. They take it upon themselves to interpret the decrees of the Elders, for better... but more often for worse. As before, there's a council for each.
- Knight's Circle: An organization that rarely meets, but is recognized as a hunter political power nonetheless. The Knight's Circle is composed of all of the ranking Knights of a particular hunter classification, and is equal in political power to the Council of Masters. Generally, they meet once a year to discuss and decide their position on all the goings on in their class' society, and only come forth to take part in politics if things get really nasty. One for each class...
- Camean Waltz (Cam-ee-an): An complex form of dancing, originating in the Camiea region of Shuurai, that involves much circular movement to form a confusing web of intricate steps. There are over three-hundred variations of the Camean Waltz to date. To say one is "dancing a Camean waltz" around something is to say they're hiding the truth.
