Equipment
This is a listing of standard hunter tools that every hunter generally carries with them.
- Sword- every hunter, regardless of classification, carries a sword with him or her. It s generally silver, and has been blessed or cooled in holy water.
- Hunter Long Sword- A long katana, with a blade four feet in length at minimum. Generally the blades are five feet, the handles two. Getting too close to a vampire is, afterall, rather unhealthy.
- Short Sword- A standard (normal length) katana, blessed in Illumina and marked with lines from Scripture along the blade to cause extra damage to demons.
- Blade- Exactly what it sounds like. A sprit hunters blade is used as a last resort against a spirit. It is quite literally just a length of steel, with no true handguard, and the handle itself is simply the portion that it not sharp. Marked with mystic sigils and seals, its devastating to a dark spirit.
- Rapier- This is more for show than anything else. All hunters have swords, it goes with their class, and sometimes its comforting to have that weight at your side.
- Scimitar- A curved blade whose design was taken from the ancient Middle Eastern lands. Perfect for beheading or gutting these foul snakes.
- Fire Brand- A magic blade, which bears the element of fire. Whenever it is used, it leaves a wide ring of flame in its wake.
- Lance- A long lance, about five feet in length, with a razor sharp, barbed end. Perfect for piercing touch dragon hide.
- Broad Sword - Much sturdier than the common hunter blade, which resembles a katana. A broad sword is the only ideal thing for cutting through dragon hide and scale.
- Throwing Blades (optional)- Thin, lightweight blades weighted enough for throwing, and honed to razor sharp points and edges.
- Claws- Samael has designed for himself sheath-like covers for his fingers. They are curved silver claws, about ? times longer than each of his fingers would normally be. However, he is as nimble with them as he is without them.
- Long Bow and Arrows (Optional)- A sturdy bow, made to last, with silver-tipped arrows.
- Crossbow with Bolts (Optional)- Well-made, and more accurate than a longbow, but some would call this cheating.
- Compound Bow and Arrows - Lets face it, Knights are good at what they do, and dont have to do EVERYTHING the hard way. Compound Bows are easily the most accurate and powerful, but theyre a bitch to set up every single time you use them.
- Staff (Optional)- A sturdy staff, useful for breaking enemy skulls if you cant get to your sword.
- Staff with Hidden Blades - With the appearance of a normal staff, usually one end is mounted with metal rings that jingle to help guide a blind spirit hunters way. However, concealed within each end is a blade. When endangered, a spirit hunter can easily spin the staff to remove a forth off each end, revealing the blades. The staff can also be separated at the center, so one can veritably use two short staffs with very mean blades.
- Computer- Hunters carry thin, highly advanced laptop computers with them, which are light and durable enough to be carried around in ones cloak. These allow one to link up to the hunter mainframe, the hunter computer network with all information, from anywhere in the world. These computers are only activated by the hunters DNA signature and fingerprints; a specialized lock is placed on each.
- Flute - A light weight flute, usually handmade by the hunter themselves. Used to play the Hunters Canticle or if youre a Knight, the Hunter Requiem as corresponds to your classification.
- Pendant- A pendant serves as both decoration and tool, as with the simple touch of a symbol they can flare with enough light to guide ones way through a pitch-black cavern. The touch of another makes a hunters pendant flash once, bright enough to dazzle the eyes of an opponent.
- Knights Crest - A Knights Crest of a pendant formed of a prismatic crystal, usually bearing some sort of mark within the heart of the pendant These crests have the various functions of the normal pendants, but also have other benefits. A Knights Crest acts as communication, recorder, and data log, and also allows the Knight access to the special parts of the hunter mainframe.
Uniform Descriptions
- Vampire Hunter- A Bodysuit usually corresponding to your guilds color, as well as a lightweight plate of armor over the chest, shin-length boots, gloves, and gauntlets. The neck of the bodysuit is usually high, to ward off bites. A large cloak over the shoulders as well, lined with white usually.
- Demon Hunter- A loose tunic and pants of your guilds color, shin-length boots. The neck of the uniform is raised slightly, and bears the band of priesthood. A cloak over the shoulders. Or, as some do, the uniform of a priest.
- Witch Hunter- All black garb of a priest, with the white collar
- Spirit Hunter- Usually very fine clothing. Usually silken shirts with long, belted tunics over them, with slits up the sides to reveal pants and boots beneath. Velvet cloaks lined with cream.
- Lamia Hunter- Usually a lot of armor.
- Were-Beast Hunter- Theres no real set uniform determined for this class, and quite often it resembles that of another class.
- Mutant Hunter- Usually whatever strikes your fancy...
- Golem Hunter- Usually simple clothing, shirts with vests over them, pants and boots. They look quite like men who live in the woods or who hunt there quite frequently.
- Dragon Hunter- These guys are the heavy duty ones. Armor, armor, and armor!
- Knight Uniform- Knights have the standard hunter uniform for everyday wear, which they are allowed to design for themselves. But they also have another, finer uniform designed for wear during ceremonies and while they are acting as Knights. These uniforms consist of long-sleeved white tunics, edged in gold, which reach the hunters ankles, and these are slit up the sides to the waist. Beneath, the hunter wears white pants bloused into shin-high white boots. The sleeves are gathered and bloused into gauntlets of pale gold that cover the arm from wrist to two inches below the elbow. They wear white cloaks, edged and lined with gold, and their tunics are belted at the waist with gold sashes. The fasteners of their tunics and gauntlets are done in jewels. (Note: Samael added a variation of his claws to the uniform; creating them of silver, plated with gold, and small jewels along the sides. Theyre made for show, supposedly)
