Title: Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Episode 903: Puma Man

Director: Michael J. Nelson

Rating: 9/10

Summary: Mike, Tom and Crow provide a hilarious running commentary on the Donald Pleasance flick "Puma Man".

Plot: MST3K *which I have see two episodes of plus This Island Earth* is one of the few TV shows I actually watch anymore, although its insanely hard to see in Scotland I still try to get whatever episodes I can, the basic idea of the show is that a man *here played by Mike Nelson* is trapped in a space station orbiting Earth called the Satellite of Love and he is sent the cheesiest of movies, originally by Dr Forrester (Trace Belliau sp ?) later by Pearl Forrester (Mary Jo Phel) to try and break his sanity this movie would then be seen by the general public so the bad guys could take over the world of course this never happens 'cause Mike and company riff the movie to hell with a collection of gags, pop culture references as well as more obscure ones so the uninitiated maybe a little confused. This episode which opens with Pearl Forrester (Mary Jo Phel) who is moving back into Castle Forrester although the guests would rather watch "Sliders" than have a Ball. Pearl sends Mike (Mike Nelson) Tom Servo (Kevin Murphy) and Crow (Bill Corbett) "Puma Man" a film about a man who has powers bearing no resemblance to a Puma. The film involves the villian (Donald Pleasance)  stealing a device shaped like a head that controls minds of people ("The control the will game..again" mutters Mike) the films "heroes" are Tony Farms (Walter George Alton) and Vadinho (Miguel ngel Fuentes) Vadinho spends his first brief moments throwing Americans out windows. Will more Americans be thrown out windows ? ("Call our 900 number now and vote" says Crow) eventually Vadinho finds Tony and says he is the Puma Man and then we can skip ahead a few chapters because I feel like it. The rest of the movie involved Tony/Puma Man jumping around like an idiot while Vadinho does most of the hard work. ("World...get used to being run by Donald Pleasance" moans Mike) Eventually Tony wraps up the plot by killing off Donald while he is in a helicopter and the aliens come back (Did I mention them at the start ?) and take the face/mind control device back to where it came from and take Vadinho with him ("And we hear the distant cry of an Anal Probe" says Mike). Our hero Tony then enjoys some mid-air nookie with his new girl-friend Jane Dobson  (Sydne Rome).

Good Points: Hilarious riffs, brilliant host segments (The bit where Tom and Crow try to make Mike a super-hero with a Dr Who scarf is funny as...) the movie doesn't actually hurt the way Manos or Santa Claus Conquers does but is bad enough to make this one of the best MST3K entries.

Bad Points: Still haven't worked out why the cast seem to leave 10-20 seconds before the movie actually pauses.
