Zoom in: figures. One of them is Andrew Knight. The other two are unknown. Andrew hands one of them some money. Man 1 It�s been a pleasure doing business with you. The Man hands Andrew a bag of drugs. Andrew inspects it. He smiles. Andrew Thank you very much. They were right when they said that you were the best. Man 2 Now if you�ll just come with me. Andrew I don�t think so. Spot lights shine through the windows. We hear the sounds of a helicopter and sirens. KITT (o.s.) This is the police. Come out with your hands up. Man 1 Dammit the cops. Man 2 let�s get outta here, NOW! The two men take off running. Andrew KITT, They�re getting away! KITT bursts in through the front door. Andrew climbs in. They take off after the two men. Cut to: Warehouse ext. night. The two men continue running. KITT comes up behind them. The driver�s door opens and Andrew jumps out and lands on the two men. They all fall to the ground. Man 2 is out on the ground, Andrew and Man 1 get up. Andrew punches the man in the face. He falls to the ground in pain. Andrew Oh forgot to tell y�all. (holds up FLAG ID) I�m with the Foundation for Law And Government, Division 1 and you guys are under arrest. Start opening sequence. Andrew Ok so listen up. Here�s the story. Twenty years ago there was this guy with a super car that went around helping people. But five years later he quits. Finally he re-surfaces to fix up his old partner and then becomes head of the company. But you see crime in this town got bad and yours truly was a thief. But after a robbery goes bad I run into this same guy who turns out to be my long lost father. He made me a proposition, join him and have a clean record or go to jail. So now, like father like son, I am on a shadowy flight to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless. Who am I? I am the Knight Rider End opening sequence. Fade in: Street ext. day. It�s a nice sunny afternoon. people are out and about. The street is crowded with people and cars. cut to: KITT ext. day. KITT is driving down a back road. Cut to: KITT int. day. Andrew is behind the wheel. He is wearing jeans and a red T-shirt. We see that the car is in NORMAL MODE. �Bad to the Bone� by George Thorgood and the Destroyers is playing. Andrew Ah, summer time in California. The sun, the beach, (beat) the babes. KITT Andrew, is there a reason why males drool over women like dogs? Andrew Yeah, human nature. KITT Is this some sort of mating ritual humans go through. Andrew Sort of. KITT Michael�s calling. Andrew (to himself) saved by the bell. (to monitor) �sup, Pop? Michael I just wanted to congratulate you on the drug bust. Andrew ...and... Bonnie And I need you here so I can get a look at KITT. Andrew Waitaminute, you want me to drive all the way back to the foundation just for a tune up? Bonnie No, we�ll meet you about a mile outside of the town you�re in now. Andrew If you say so. The picture on the monitor fades out. Andrew flips a few switches. Andrew How in the hell are they gonna meet us outside of town? KITT They must have gotten the Transport truck running. Andrew The what? KITT You�ll see. Andrew (notices something) We may have to put that on hold for a little while. Cut to: Andrew�s P.O.V. We see a young woman about Andrew�s age being harassed by a gang hanging around a new Chevy truck. Cut to: street ext. day. The girl tries to brush pass the gang. They won�t let her pass. Kevin Come on, Baby. Just a little. Sarah Buzz off, Kevin. Kevin All I want is one little kiss. (puckers) Andrew (O.C.) Hey, honey. Sarah Hey, Baby. Sarah manages to get past the Kevin and his gang. She goes over to Andrew. Andrew is leaning against KITT. Andrew puts his arm around Sarah. Andrew Is something goin� on? Sarah No, not really. Kevin Nice set of wheels. What can it do? KITT A lot more than that bucket of bolts you have. Kevin (aggressive) What? Andrew (under his breath) Shut up, KITT. (to Kevin) I said a lot more than your truck. Kevin Well then let�s see. Sirens in the back ground start. The gang scrambles. The police car pulls up just as the gang leaves. The sheriff gets out and heads over to Sarah, Andrew, and KITT. Andrew (under his breath) KITT, better go into undercover mode. Cut to: KITT int. day. The panels cover KITT�s Displays. Cut to KITT ext. Day. the sheriff walks. Andrew pulls of his sunglasses. Sheriff What�s going on here. Andrew Oh I was riding through town and saw a group of people. So I figured I�d stop and ask where to find a good place to eat. Sheriff and then... Sarah and then he saw that Kevin and his goons where messin� with me and he helped me. Sheriff (walks around car) (into walkie talkie) Shannon, can you run some plates for me. California plates K-N-I-G-H-T Shannon (V.O.) The car is registered under the Knight Foundation. Sheriff (to Andrew) Well. Andrew pulls out his wallet and shows the sheriff his FLAG ID. Sheriff (to Shannon) Thanks. (To Andrew) Listen, I don�t want any trouble out of you. Andrew That�s good, cause I�m not looking for trouble. Sheriff At least we see eye to eye. The Sheriff goes back to his car and exits. Sarah (extends hand) Sarah Jacobs. Andrew (accepts hand) Andrew Knight. Sarah That�s a nice car you�ve got here. Andrew It�s not mine. Sarah (concerned) Oh! Andrew It�s the company car. Sarah Where do you work? Andrew Foundation for Law And Government, Division 1. KITT Ahem. Sarah What was that? Andrew That�s just KITT. Sarah KITT? Andrew Yeah. KITT introduce yourself. Cut to: KITT int. day. The panels pull reveal KITT�s panels KITT Hello, Sarah. Sarah What kind of car is this. KITT I am the Knight Industries Three Thousand. K.I.T.T. for easy reference or KITT as my friends call me. Andrew He�s the first robotic law enforcement agent in the world. Sarah You mean like Robocop. KITT Hardly, Robocop would be jealous of what I can do. Andrew Hey KITT, we gotta go meet Mom and Dad outside of town. Sarah Can I come with you. I can show you how to get there. Andrew I don�t see why not. Cut to: KITT int. later. Andrew is driving in Normal mode and Sarah is sitting in the passengers seat. She is in awe at the car. Sarah Wow. What all can he do? Andrew There isn�t much ol� KITT can�t do. Sarah (reading the labels) Turbo boost. Pursuit mode. Ski mode. N.I.S. Burrow mode. (beat) What the hell? Andrew looks over to Sarah and smiles. Andrew KITT, wadda ya say we give the lady a little demonstration? Close up: Pursuit Mode button. Andrew presses the button Cut to: KITT ext. day. The car speeds off. Cut to: Turbo Boost button. Andrew presses that button cut to: KITT ext. day. The car makes a tremendous leap and lands cut to KITT int. day. Andrew is smirking and Sarah is scared out of her wits. Sarah whoa! How the... (beat) Nevermind I give up trying to figure out this car. Cut to street ext. day. We see a semi. The doors to the trailer open up and KITT climbs in. The doors close behind them. Andrew and Sarah get out of the car. Andrew Sweet, we got a semi too? Michael Yeah, this is the old transport truck we used. KITT It�s smaller than I remember it. Bonnie Bringing home your girlfriends? Andrew This is Sarah. I helped her out back in town. Michael (skeptical) Uh huh. Sarah What the hell is all this? Andrew (sarcastically) This is all part of a government conspiracy to take over the world by programming cars to backtalk and be egotistical. KITT I�m not egotistical. Proud maybe but not egotistical. Bonnie KITT (beat) shut up and open up. The hood of the car raises up and Bonnie gets to work. Michael Actually, this is just part of a nation wide government project to champion the cause of the innocent, helpless, and the powerless. Andrew We also have the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound. KITT I think not. Michael KITT hates hights. Sarah A car with fears? Andrew He gets that from Mom over there. Bonnie Well your in good shape, KITT. KITT Of course. Andrew has a better habit of keeping good care of me than some people. Michael Of whom are you speaking of over there? Andrew What can I say? I�m a car lover. KITT I�m picking up a disturbance in town. Andrew Where? KITT At the car dealership. Sarah That�s where my father works. Andrew A�ight let�s go. Andrew and Sarah get in the car. The doors of the semi open and KITT back out on to the street. Cut to: Semi ext. day. KITT does a 180 and races into town. Cut to: KITT int. Day. Andrew flips a few switches Andrew KITT, gimme pursuit mode. KITT Right away, Andrew. Close up: Pursuit Mode button. The button illuminates. Cut to: KITT ext. day. The car continues to races. Cut to: Auto dealership int. day. The gang from earlier is ravaging through the entire store. Kevin is picking the lock for the key case. It opens and Kevin starts handing out keys. In the b.g. we hear KITT�s engine. Kevin Let�s scram. The gang rushes out side and climbs into their assigned cars. They all drive off. KITT comes into view. cut to: KITT int. day. Andrew is driving and Sarah is in the passenger seat. A �67 GTO roars by. Andrew Okay, KITT, give me passive laser restraints and lets get them. Sarah What about my father? Andrew KITT? KITT I�m picking up a life form near the building ahead. He�s Unconscious Andrew Alright let�s check on him. Cut to Dealership ext. day. A man is laying on the ground and KITT pulls up. Andrew and Sarah get out of the car and head over to the man. Andrew KITT scan his vitals, will ya? Close up: KITT�s scanner bar. The scanner goes back and forth scanning. We hear the familiar whooshing noise. KITT He�s suffered a blow to the head. Otherwise he�ll be okay. Andrew Let�s get him inside. Cut to dealership int. later. The man from earlier, Bruce Jacobs, is sitting in a chair with an ice pack on his head. Sarah is crouching next to her father and Andrew is sitting on the nearby desk. Andrew What happened? Bruce I don�t know. One minute I�m showing a customer a car the next I�m out cold on the ground. Sarah Did you see who it was. Bruce No. Andrew Okay, you guys stay here and I�ll go have a look outside. Don�t worry I�ll get to the bottom of this. Andrew walks outside Cut to: Dealership ext. eve. Andrew walks over to KITT and examines the ground. KITT turns on his lights. Bruce and Sarah walk outside and join Andrew. Andrew What cars were stolen. Bruce By the looks of it. I�d say six �92 Camaros, two �87 �Vettes, three �77 Trans Ams, and a �67 GTO. Andrew You�re gonna sit there and tell me you actually had a �67 Pontiac GTO in stock. Bruce It was a display piece. Andrew Which means it didn�t have a lot of gas in it. KITT, have Dad put an APB for any GTOs that go to any gas stations. KITT Right away. Bruce Well if you need anything gimme a call. I�m in the book. Exit Bruce and Sarah. Andrew leans back down to examine the ground. KITT Andrew, I�m detecting another set of tires. Andrew (Heads over to Driver door) Yeah, what kind? Close up: KITT�s monitor. It shows a CGI of a set of tread marks. KITT They appear to be consistent with those of a truck. Andrew What kind of truck? KITT A newer Chevrolet truck to be precise. Andrew I don�t suppose you could tell me who. KITT Yes, Kevin Baker. Andrew (suprissed) How the Hell do you know that? KITT I scanned the security camera over there. Andrew looks up. Andrew�s P.O.V.: We see a security camera mounted on a wall nearby. (commercial break) Fade in: Warehouse int. day. The GTO from earlier pulls up and parks. Kevin gets out of the car. One of his goons comes up to him. Fred Looks like we made out good. Kevin Yeah, now let�s get these cars out of here before the cops find us. Kevin walks into the office. Cut to: office int. day. Kevin sits in the chair and picks up the phone. He dials a number. (Beat) (Beat) Kevin Yeah, we got the cars you wanted. (Beat) There may be a problem. (beat) Some guy named Andrew Knight. (Beat) If that�s what has to be done. Kevin hangs up the phone. He picks up a near by gun and cocks it. (Commercial break) Fade in: Semi trailer int. day. Michael and Bonnie are waiting as Andrew pulls in with KITT. Andrew gets out of the car. Andrew What�ve we got? Michael It seems that a GTO pulled into a gas station just out of town. Same year as the one stolen from the dealership. Andrew I�m on it. Cut to: Gas station ext. day. KITT pulls in and Andrew gets out. The attendant comes over. Andrew Andrew Knight with the Foundation for Law And Government. Attendant You here about that GTO that came through here. Andrew Yessir, what can you tell me? Attendant Well when he came in I didn�t think nothing of it. But then I remembered the APB that y�all put out lookin� for a GTO. Andrew Which way did he go? Attendant (Pointing) That way. Andrew Thanks. Andrew walks over to KITT. KITT Andrew, the treads match those at the dealership. Andrew Well, let�s follow them and see where they lead. Cut to: Warehouse, KITT pulls in and comes to a stop. Cut to: KITT, int. Andrew put the car in park. Andrew I don�t like this. Andrew�s POV: the Warehouse is completely empty. Andrew KITT, what can you tell me? Cut to: KITT ext. Front. The scanner moves back in forth making the trademark sound for a few beats. KITT It appears that the warehouse has been empty for quite some time. Andrew Stay here, I�ll be right back. Andrew gets out of the car and walks over to the office. He heads over to the phone and examines it. Andrew (into comlink) KITT, can you trace this call. Andrew presses the re-dail button on the phone and it starts to ring. KITT (V.O.) Got it. Andrew hangs up the phone and heads back over to KITT. He climbs in. Andrew What�d we get? KITT The number is registered to a Greg Marshall. I�ve got the directions displayed on the plasma screen. Andrew touches the screen and the map minimizes and an array of touch buttons. He touches a few buttons and an image of Michael appears. He drops what he�s doing and turns to Andrew. Michael What is it? Andrew I need you to run a check on a Gary Marshall. Michael Who�s he? Andrew A suspect on the car robberies. Michael Well it�ll be a while until I can get it to you because half of our servers are down. Andrew Damn, all right I�ll stick around town a while and see what I can dig up. |
