I woke up bathed in sweat
After a nightmare
I never dreamed anything so stupid
I was justified in my having panic
It was like this: I stood on the shore
And before me lay a whale
He still lived; I was alone
It was such a quagmire
I'm not the strongest
The animal weighed a ton
And the waves called:
Push the whale back into the ocean!
Push the whale
Push the whale
Push the whale back into the ocean!
So I kept trying to do it
Still with all my strength
The seagulls cried above me
Again I couldn't do it
Then a Greenpeace ship went by
I thought, thank God!
I roared and waved like crazy
And then I saw that it sank
Push the whale
Push the whale
Push the whale back into the ocean!
The tears started pouring
Because I was so helpless
The whale lay there unchanged
and I went near the animal
I begged of him:
Make yourself not as heavy!
And the sun cried: Do it already!
Push the whale back into the ocean!
The next morning I had muscle aches
I schlepped into the bathroom
I turned on the shower
How much good that did me!
Then I heard my girlfriend
She screamed from seamingly nowhere:
"What are you doing in the shower?
Push the whale back into the ocean!"
Push the whale
Push the whale
Push the whale back into the ocean!
Push the whale
Push the whale
Push the fucking whale back into the ocean!
