Graham Flaumell Prince of Amber, son of Princess Florimel A character in Blake Moorcroft's All Souls' Night campaign. |
"It’s a dark night. Rain, of course. First night being homeless and it’s raining. Life seems to work that way recently. First, a month ago, Tommy kicks me out. He’s been my only love for the last eight years since I ran away from my foster parents in Arizona. Not that my relationship with Tommy’s always been a bed of roses, but at least it was always a bed. So there I am back on the street, turning tricks again. Old guys, disgruntled housewives, closet dominatrixes, and the occasional businessman to put food in my mouth and pay my way at the Y. I get busted for soliciting cause I won’t blow the cop and the Y kicks me out for no payment. Shit it’s cold. I’ve got to find some place warm. Maybe the mission, maybe. I can’t take all the crap they feel they can pile on us after they’ve given us a bowl of soup and a blanket. Well, at least it’s a dry blanket. What’s those lights? SHIT!..."
Graham’s the forgotten son of Florimel, raised by foster parents on Shadow Earth after Flora’s hand-picked choices died in a tragic car accident. Well not exactly forgotten, but definitely overlooked. He ran away to NYC at 14 and moved in with an older man, who introduced him to the streets and all of its ugliness. Drugs never seemed to interest Graham, never having much of an effect on him. Shortly after his 21st birthday, Flora came looking for her son, only to find him gone. The Patternfall War was over and now she could spend some time getting to know him. Not wanting to be obvious in her search, she exerted her will over Shadow and forced his path to cross hers. A little over a Shadow Earth year later, she was returning home, her driver taking a wrong turn, when a young man stepped out in front of her car. The Pattern works in strange ways.
Flora explained Graham’s background to him, including her role and his future possibilities. Graham grabbed at a chance to get out of his dreary life. He wasn’t in Amber more than a week before he took the Pattern in the Tir and was off gallivanting in Shadow. He spends much of his time flitting through many medieval Shadows, hiring himself out as a caravan guard or mercenary. He's been exploring his new life in Shadow with great vigor, forever trying to find the perfect gift for the woman who changed his life, the mother he never knew. He's recently returned to Amber with his great stag, Herne, to celebrate Flora's birthday, to find she's nowhere to be found, and not answering any Trump calls. To kill some time until she returns, Graham has taken up courier duty for Random, delivering a message to Lord Finndo, ruler of New Begma, a Shadow from an alternate universe.
…Night falls on Amber. Return to Tir Tairngire.
