New Trump Pending

Lord Channe ka Amblerash

Trump Artist

A character in Simone Cooper's Merlin's Ways campaign.

As with any noble of Chaos, Channe's appearance changes with his mood, and whom he's meeting, yet the House Trump pictures him such…

"Standing at the edge the 'Dark Forest' at the main gates of AmblerashWays, his eyes, a bright green, glow with an intensity to match the short red hair at his crown. At just over, 6 feet tall, his figure is lithe and wiry, in a state of constant motion, visible here in his uneasy pose. One can only wonder how the Artist kept him posed long enough to finish the rendering. He’s dressed in dark grey doublet and breeches, accented with red piping and bands and black boots, gloves, and belt. Across his shoulder is a satchel of black leather."

He's also been seen in the form of a large dire wolf, standing at least 12 hands at the shoulder, with flesh of red marbled granite. For most formal functions he effects a demon-shape that is nothing short of nine feet of coiled muscle rippling under a thick red coat of fur. These limbs end in large grey claws that darken to black as they reach their point. His head is muzzled like a giant wolf with fangs that match his claws. Large horns like a ram’s have begun to curl back on themselves and his eyes glow a venomous green.

His preferred form of Artistry is pastels on card stock. He then uses a fixative, which allows him to layer the pastels and create depth, without smudging and mixing of colors. His Trumps are all in this style. The backs are dark grey with a red wolf’s head device and green eyes.

Channe is regularly seen at functions throughout the Courts, though they seem not much more than a distraction to him. He's also very active in social circles involving arts and magic. He has a cursory interest in sorcery and the like, but doesn't wish to be known as Lady Syliata's son. Some day he expects that his talent will allow him to be the premier artist of the Courts. A loner much of his life, and raised in shadows where he exceled over the other children, he has an ego that gets the best of him, regularly.

His father, Lord Kamir, is the second son of Satori and Syliata. Kamir's brothers Enrikal and Ezra, his sister Sylvia, and nephew Analak all perished in the Patternfall. His youngest brother Andeles was too young at the time to fight. As the new head of his part of the family he took his mother as his own wife. Slowly they have been rebuilding, yet they are still not able to provide the crown with forces. Lord Karim’s relationship with Channe has always been distant. Channe has always done well enough at the sword classes his father forced him to take, and has eventually realized that swordplay in itself is an art form. He enjoys sparring with his father to clear his head when a piece he’s working on has him blocked. These are the only times that Kamir and Channe seem to be able to communicating and the only time he’s ever seen his father smile.

Lady Syliata, his mother, is a sorceress. Her magics are what saved his father from the attack that saw her husband and children’s passing. It’s been suggested she could’ve saved others, including her late husband, but Channe doesn’t believe that. Sylvia was her pride and joy. If she couldn’t have saved her greatest student, Channe doubts that she could’ve saved anyone else. But then again, he’s only heard the story second hand. The loss of her family left her distracted and withdrawn. When Karim decided it was his responsibility to continue the line and become patriarch, she didn’t flinch at his suggestion of making her his wife. Syliata has been known to have other lovers, mostly sorcerers from far off shadows, but in the eyes of the Courts she plays the dutiful wife. Once in an argument Channe overheard her claim to Kamir that Channe wasn’t even his child, so how could he expect such things from him. Kamir shifted to his demon form and proceeded to rip the main dining hall of AmblerashWays to shreds. When Channe approached her about this, she claimed to have fabricated that to enrage Kamir. Channe is what you could refer to as "his mother’s son", in appearance and mannerisms.

Channe's cousin Rayla is a sorceress of somewhat distinguished power as was her mother, and now studies with her grandmother/aunt Lady Syliata.

Lord Andeles and Lady Pyralla are WaysMasters of minor note, and their twins, Mandal and Mendal are young reflections of their father. Lord Andeles tries to give them the childhood he feels his missed due to the war.

There a few others "of" Amblerash, but these are those Channe counts close enough to call family.
