Mike & Bobbie Jean Knauer Dear Birthmother Open Adoption Letter

Mike & Bobbie Jean Knauer
Dear Birthmother Letter

HELLO!

We are Michael & Bobbie Jean (our family & friends call us Mike and "B"). We are humbled and honored that you are allowing us to introduce ourselves to you, and by you taking the time necessary to consider us to become the loving parents for your child.

We both admire and respect your courageous decision in choosing the open adoption process at this time in your life. By carefully selecting and wanting to know the adoptive family, the love you have for your child is very obvious and admirable. Our deepest and sincere gratitude to YOU.

A little background for you... we met when we were young children, in Bible class, at age six and seven. It seems we have known each other forever! Later, we became highschool sweethearts... so we feel like there is very little about each other that we do not know, share, and love. Now we cherish and remain committed to our marriage of over six years and continue working together and loving each other into the future as it comes our way.

Our Careers

Mike has been working in the NASCAR racing business since moving to North Carolina in 1995. Racing has become a very popular sport in our community.

Mike has adjusted his career to part-time travel, which allows him a stable life for his future family. Being there for his family is very important to him.

Bobbie Jean has enjoyed being a medical secretary for more than five years. She has always loved working with the public, and has learned the rewards of hard work through practicing patience! B plans to take as much time off of work as necessary when we have a child.

Our Home

We live in a comfortable, ranch styled home that is nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac located in a friendly suburb of Charlotte, NC.

Our fenced-in back yard is waiting to be filled with swings, toys and laughter! The families in our neighborhood have shown us that nothing can compare to the hugs and kisses one shares with a child. From our backyard we can hear the children playing in our neighborhood playground and ballpark.

Our community is a melting pot of citizens from all over the country, which makes this area more desirable to raise a family. Just minutes from our home is beautiful Lake Norman where we anticipate warm weekend swimming trips and relaxing boat rides with our child and friends.

Our Beliefs

We are of Christian faith, and put our trust in God as Lord of our lives and of our marriage. We believe that the gift of raising a child in a loving and Christian-based home is an awesome responsibility as well as an honor. We have both been longing to have a child to share our lives with, to spend time reading books, playing games, singing songs like Jesus loves the little children, and the itsy bitsy spider, and teaching ABCs and 123s with.

We anticipate being able to share and teach many things that we have experienced in our lives. Furthermore, we long to learn from our child and be continuously reminded of how life is viewed from the eyes of a much younger person. We believe that our home will be complete when we become blessed with a child to love and nurture, sharing our past to help mold our little ones future.

More About Us...

To experience the love of being outdoors in nature is to know one of the many things we enjoy most! We spend much of our leisure time at home outside feeding the wild birds and squirrels. We cannot wait to share our time with a child in the garden planting pansy seeds and watching them grow and bloom. Spending time boat riding on the lake with our family and friends is a weekend adventure. We anxiously wait for the first expression of a little ones feet dipping in the water, and the excitement in his or her eyes splashing in the water and learning how to swim.

We also want to share many other local events with a child, such as the Coca Cola 6OO, the Renaissance Festival, and the Fourth of July festival which is held at our local park, where we will ride the merry-go-round, eat cotton candy and candy apples. The sparkle in a little ones eyes as fireworks burst thru the sky with bright lights will warm our hearts.

Our Family

Mike and B both grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, which Is known for its large farming and fishing industry. We both came from and have very loving families. They all anxiously await the time to spoil their grandchild and cousin.

In Conclusion

Thanks with all that we have, for giving us the opportunity to open our hearts and share just a portion about ourselves. We hope and pray that you feel comfortable with what you have learned so far, and are encouraged to want to get to know us more. By getting to know us better, the security and trust that we feel is crucial will develop & flourish. Please call with any questions or concems, we are here for you.
