Flight #4
Now the darn plane is lost in the jungle. I got a great flight in but there was a crash at the end. I had it up there at least 5 minutes and was doing pretty good. At one point it was flying over some houses and I could hear all the dogs barking at it. Then I was just about to bring her in for a landing and put the 2nd battery in.

So I decided to swing around the jungle and turn back into the wind and head for the grass. Then I started having a hard time controlling it after I made the down wind turn. And before I could get it stable there was a loud smack.

So I trudged off to recover the plane. Or so I thought. I don't know if I ever even got close to the crash site. I got back there in all those tall bushes and the thick grass and swampy areas, and had no idea where I was. After looking for awhile I decided I would have to come back with a ladder or something, because I could walk right past the plane in this stuff and never see it. So I started out.

It wasn't long before my focus turned from recovering the plane to finding my way out. I mean this place is a jungle, there are no paths or easy ways thorough. The thought occurred to me that if I fell and broke my leg or something, it would be years before any one found me. Then it started to rain.

So there I was trudging through the jungle trying to find my way out of there in the rain. Then I realized why this area is such a jungle. Water. When it rains the creek over flows and water rushes all through this area. From the look of all the grass that was laid over, I'd say it rush through there pretty fast. I have seen this creek rise as much a 6 feet in a good rain.

So now the plane is lost out in the field somewhere. I don't know how I will find it. The best bet is to wait until winter sets in and all them cattails die off. A helicopter would be nice. So would a hot air balloon.
