Folklore of Flintknapping

Folklore is the study of the myths and legends of a people. Any people. Some folklorists study ancient oral traditions, others examine the contemporary stories we tell today -- things like urban legends or tall tales. Given the remarkable time depth involved in the history of flintknapping it is not surprising that there is a lot of folklore surrounding it. This section will house some of that folklore. Future articles will contain information on topics such as the myth of flintknapping with hot rocks and water and personalities like "Flint Jack".
