Character Evaluations

My Party Members

Claude Kenni: Claude is one of the two main characters of the game. He is possibly the strongest character in the game. His regular attacks are quick and powerful. He also has the best Killer Move in the game, Mirror Slice.

Rena Lanford: Rena is the other main character in the game. She is the most useful character in the game, an absolute must have. Her healing spells are extremely crucial.

Ashton Anchors: Ashton is an awesome character. He will not disappoint you. His regular attacks are pretty much equal to those of Claudes. His Killer Move, Sword Dance, is almost as good as Claudes Mirror Slice. The difference between them is that Mirror Slice is more effective in locking up targets.

Bowman Jean: For most part of the game, even when I completed the Cave of Trial, Ive been using Claude, Rena, Ashton, and Leon. It was until I fought Indalecio (limiter off); I realized dark magicians are useless. Bowman was the only fighter left on my team, so I had no choice but to use him. Be honest, he really isnt that good. His regular attacks are absolutely horrible. His final Killer Move, Sakura Attack, is okay.

Other Characters I Recruited

Leon Geeste: You can only recruit Leon if you're playing Claude's scenario. I prefer Leon over Celine, but its really up to you. However, towards the end of the game, fighters are just better than dark magicians.

Celine Jules: Celine will be the first dark magician you get to recruit. Youll definitely want to have a dark magician in your party early on.

Noel Chandler: Noel is the only healer besides Rena in the game. This guy really sucks! He wont start healing you until youre almost knocked out. If youre desperate to use him, you must control him yourself.

Strategies & Secrets

Claude or Rena?

This is just a little tip to anyone who's not sure which character to choose at the beginning. Take my advice and pick Rena. Only then you'll be able to recruit the best party in the game, Claude, Rena, Ashton, and Dias. The only way to recruit Dias is if you're playing Rena's scenario.

Cave of Trials

This is an optional dungeon in the game. It is unbelievably hard! It took me over 10 hours to complete this quest. This has to be the most difficult dungeon I have ever played. There are a total of 13 levels in this dungeon. What makes this dungeon so hard is that there isnt a single save point in it. In the final level of this dungeon, youll have to fight Gabrie Celesta. Im not going to make a complete guide for this dungeon. If you need help, go to GameFAQs.com. If you need further help in beating Gabrie Celesta, just refer to my Indalecio (limiter off) strategy. I beat Gabrie Celesta at level 165, just make sure you're at least 160+ when you face her.

Indalecio (limiter off)

Indalecio is the final boss of the game. In his normal form, you should be able to take him out at around level 80. However, if you turn off his limiter, he then becomes invincible. After completing the Cave of Trials, I thought I was undefeatable, so I triggered a private action to turn off the final bosss limiter. Bad, bad idea!!! Take my words; do not turn his limiter off. He would then become the most powerful monster in the game. In fact, he was the toughest monster Ive ever battle in my whole life. If you accidentally turn off his limiter, too bad, you might just never see the ending of this game.

Preparation
You must have Rena and three other fighters for this battle. Dark magicians are useless. Make sure your levels are 200+. Equip everyone with their best equipments. Give Holy Sword Farwell to all your swordsmen. I know Levatine Sword and Eternal Sphere may be stronger in fighting other enemies, but Holy Sword Farwell gives you a boost in many other fields. Each fighter should only equip his/her strongest Killer Move, such as Claude should only have Mirror Slice. You also need to prepare plenty of healing items for your HP and MP.

During Battle
When the battle starts, your fighters should be using regular attacks only. Indalecio is unbelievably fast. This will look like three turtles trying to catch a rabbit. The worst thing about Indalecio is that he can cast spells as he move. Once your regular attacks connect, and he stumbles for a second, immediately perform your Kill Move. Hopefully, this will lock him up for a while. If so, manually switch to another fighter and hit Indalecio with another Killer Move from the other side. Claudes Mirror Slice and Ashtons Sword Dance work well in this situation. For this battle, you will have to constantly switch between characters. It took me around 10 tries to finally defeat this guy.

*Note theres an easy way to beat Indalecio by equipping the Bloody Armor, but I never tried it.
