Final Fantasy V

Character Evaluations

FF5 uses its original Job System, first appeared in FF3. All party members can select different classes of job to become. Each class has its own abilities, advantages, and disadvantages. The balanced party would be two fighters and two mages. Each character is allowed to master a total of seven different classes. So choose your classes wisely. In the end, after you have mastered all the classes you need, change your characters back to Bare or Mime. This way, they will be able to benefit from all the non-command abilities.

Strategies & Secrets

Omega

Omega is one of the two optional bosses in FF5. This boss could possibly be the toughest monster in any Final Fantasy games. The hardest part is how you plan your strategy. As far as I know, there is only one way to defeat this monster. I have not seen a second method, and I dont think there is one. Dont waste your time on leveling. Regardless of how high your levels are, if you dont follow this strategy, youll never beat Omega. I defeated Omega at level 40, but I believe its even possible to beat it at level 30.

Preparation
You must equip all of your characters with armors that protect against fire elemental attacks, such as Fire Ring or Flame Shield. You only need two fighters to destroy Omega. Both fighters must have mastered Sorcerer (minimum at Level 6), Ninja, and Hunter. Ninja has the 2-swords ability that allows you to hold two weapons. Sorcerer has the !Sword ability and Hunter has the !Sshot ability.

During Battle
When the battle starts, have your two fighters use !Sword to cast Bolt3 onto their weapons. Have the other two characters cast Haste2 or focus on healing. DO NOT attack Omega yet. When the next round comes, the two fighters should use !Sshot. This will allow each of them to perform eight attacks since they have two weapons equipped. After the first guy finishes attacking, Omega will remove him from the battle screen. Dont worry. The battle will be over after the second guy finishes his attacks.

Now, let me explain why I believe this is the only method that can defeat Omega. I have heard of some other ways, but none of them will work. Omega has extremely high defense. None of the attacks can do serious damage to him except for bolt type of attacks. Each time Omega receives damage, he will remove a character from the battle screen. There are only four members in your party, which means you will only have four opportunities to attack Omega.

Shinryu

Unlike Omega, Shinryu is more like a boss fight. There is one easy and quick way to defeat it. Every character needs to master the Ninja class and learn the Lancers Jump ability. You also need eight Dragon Lances. Each character gets two. As soon as the battle starts, have everyone use "Jump". Using this method, you can take Shinryu out in just one round. However, I never acquired eight Dragon Lances. So I had to figure out another way.

Preparation
Make sure all of your characters levels are not divisible by 2 or 3, because Shinryu is capable of casting L2 Old and L3 Flare. My party was at level 41 when I fought Shinryu. I had two fighters and two mages. Change everyone to Bare or Mime for this battle. The two fighters should have mastered the Ninja class and learned Lancers Jump ability. They also need four decent weapons that are usable for "Jump". Both mages need to have Flare, Cure3, and Arise. One of them must have the spell Slow, and the other one need to be able to summon Golem. Equip everyone with Coral Ring. The two mages might also want to equip Flame Shields.

During Battle
The first thing you MUST do when the battle starts is to cast Slow on Shinryu. This is extremely important. Shinryu reacts way too fast without Slow. Immediately, summon Golem to protect everyone from physical attacks. Have the two fighters constantly use "Jump". Each attack should inflict a least amount of 1000 HP of damage. Because the two fighter will be in the air for most of the time, they will also avoid most of Shinryus devastating attacks. If their HP gets low, dont waste time trying to heal. Keep attacking! Only use Arise if they get knocked out. Have the two mages keep casting Flare. This is the best spell against Shinryu. It can inflict around 4000 HP of damage. Meteo may be the strongest spell in the game, but it only deals a couple-hundred against Shinryu. Bahamut puts out a decent number of 3500 HP of damage but still not as powerful as Flare. Besides it costs more MP. Make sure the two mages HP maintain at their maximum or near their maximum through out the battle.

Final Fantasy VI

Character Evaluations

My Party Members

Terra Branford: Terra is an all round character, very strong at casting Magic. Her skill, Morph, allows her to double her magic power.

Sabin Rene Figaro: Sabin is one of the most powerful fighters. His final Blitz, Bum Rush, is the most powerful single attack in the game.

Cyan Garamonde: Cyan is one of my personal favorites. Though he does have one disadvantage, that is his SwordTech takes too long to charge. Quadra Slice is the only attack that can break over the 9999-damage limit.

Relm Arrowny: Many people dont realize. Relm actually has the highest magic power of all the characters.

Other Characters

Locke Cole: Locke is a very solid all round character, but he does not have any powerful special attacks.

Edgar Roni Figaro: Edgar uses Tools skills. Some of them are extremely useful. However, Sabin and Cyan are just better fighters. But his Tool skill "Air Anchor" is one of the best abilities in fighting regular enemies.

Shadow: Shadow is only an average fighter.

Celes Chere: Celes's stats are almost exactly the same as Terras. The only difference between them is their special skills. Celess Runic is useful and required for some battles, but Terra's Morph is just more powerful.

Setzer Gabbiani: Setzer is another average character.

Mog: Mog isn't too strong, but he's the only character who can equip Moogle Charm. An item that eliminates random battles.

Strago Magus: It's kind of disappointing that Strago's magic power does not live up to his name Magus. His granddaughter Relm on the other hand, should have bore this name.

Umaro: With Rage Ring and Blizzard Orb equipped, Umaro can be one of the most damaging characters in the game. The only downside about him is that he can only be controlled by CPU.

Gogo: I cant really judge Gogo since I never used him that much. But doubted he's that strong.
