The River of Life
The
gushing water flows so fast
It seems our lives are swirling past
First our childhood rushes by
A favorite swing, a lullaby,
The toys all scattered on the floor
Are memories, and nothing more
Our teenage years are all a haze
The boys, the lazy summer days
Our first old car, our days at school
Are swept into a swirling pool
And before there's time to shed a tear
We're finished with our senior year
The unknown future looms ahead
So different from the lives we've led
This college life seems strange and new
But each of us knows what we must do
If we ever feel we've gone astray
And think we need to find our way
Then we'll each take the path we chose
And follow where the river flows.
