But then you were gone.

I don't know how

Or why you left.

But now you're in heaven

Watching over me,

And making sure I'm safe at night.

I loved you then,

And still do today.

I talk to you almost every night,

And wonder if you hear me.

My world crumbled when you left.

Now I'm trying to pick up the pieces.

But thinking of you

Helps me through the day.

I have a lot of memories of you,

And I hold them dear to me.

If you were still here,

I know that you'd be proud.

So many things have happened

Since I saw you last.

There are too many to count,

But I'm sure you know.

You always did when you were alive.

And now that you're in heaven,

I just want you to know that

My world crumbled when you left.

If only you were here,

My life would be so much greater.

But life goes on,

And I have to face the fact

That you're not here.

Your memory is still inside me
