It was one of your favorite days

I remember the look on your face

As we all sat around the tree

You would hand us each a present

And watch as we opened them

You would always smile when you saw our face

And I knew that it brought you joy

I miss you most of all around this time of year

I miss seeing your happiness

And the way you laughed when we were near

I thought that you would always stay

But suddenly God took you from us

He didn't give us much warning

That morning you were fine

Then later that night it happened

And I don't know why you had to leave

I miss you more now than any other time

Christmas was always a special time for us

But now it's not quite the same

I just have one wish this year

And that's to know you're always here

I don't care what time of day it is

I just want to feel safe

And remember all the fun we had

That's my one wish this year for Christmas
