There was a single solitary rose
It lived alone for many years
No one knew its beauty
Because no one looked for it
People never thought to search
For anything in this field
So its beauty and grace
Remained hidden from view
Oh, how it wished
For just one person to find it
It wanted to be appreciated
It wanted to be loved
Unfortunately, the rose thought this would never happen
It feared she'd be alone for all eternity
She longed for someone to find her hidden beauty
And bring happiness to both their lives
But alas, the flower died before this happened
Then someone who always passed by the field
Decided to explore it one day
He came upon the dead rose and wept
If he'd only taken the time sooner
He could have enjoyed her beauty
But he, like most people, never look for beauty
That does not appear on the surface
They all mist out on what's deep inside
And mourn for the beauty they never care to find
Until it's too late and the beauty has faded
If people would only take the time
They would have found the hidden beauty
Of a single solitary rose
In the middle of an abandoned field
