Grandfather, what's it like in heaven?

I wish that I knew.

Is it what we think it is,

Or is there more that we don't know?

I wish that I could see you,

Or at least know that you are near.

Grandfather, do you watch over me at night

And tell all your friends about me?

Or do you just sit there

While you think about how proud you are?

Do you keep me safe from harm

And comfort me while I sleep?

Grandfather, what's it like in heaven?

Are there angles all around,

Or are they all inside

Of my dreams at night?

Do they sing beautiful songs

And help people right their wrongs?

Grandfather, are you there for me everyday?

Do you ever show your face

Whenever I look the other way,

Or is your smile with me?

Are your words of wisdom lost in the mind,

Or do I hear them when I think?

Grandfather, what's it like in heaven?

Will I ever know the truth?

Or will I find out when I'm with you again

In our home with God?

Then will I watch over people

And guide them in life?

Grandfather, will I have to wait long

To find out all these answers?

I sit here and cry when I think of you

And wonder when I'll know.

But there's on thing I want to know now,

Grandfather, what's it like in heaven?
