Hi everyone. I want to dedicate these poems to everyone who lost their lives in this tragic event. I also want to send my prayers up to everyone and pray that everyone is all right. I encourage everyone to at least take a moment to reflect on the events that happened this day, September 11, 2001. Thank you, and I hope that people find the strength to carry on and help our nation heal from this tragedy.

FOR OUR FALLEN BUT NOT FORGOTTEN FELLOW AMERICANS

"When Disaster Strikes"

In the midst of disaster

When all hope is lost,

We look to our Lord

To give us his strength.

We pray with one another

And try to do what we can.

People band together

For that's how we survive.

It's through our loving nature

And the guidance we get from God

That we as a unit continue to strive.

So as we band together tonight,

Lift up your words in prayer

To ask God, our loving Father

For guidance, comfort and support

While we try to make it through

This day filled with sadness

And the memories of those who were lost.

"Do What You Can"

There are some days

That you pray never come

Sometimes people never expect

Things to happen the way they do

We all pray and hope

It's a dream gone wrong

But the terror behind it

Is the tragic truth

People lost their lives

And we don't know what to do

We lift our voices up in prayer

Knowing God will do

Everything he has to

We do what we can here on Earth

And hope that it's enough

But the greatest thing of all

Is to ask for help from up above

So I ask you all now

To say a simple word or two

And pray for God to help

As the nation tries to pull through

This dark day in history

"What Now?"

As the days go on

We're all in a daze

No one knows what's going on

Or what to expect next

We all fear the worst

And hope for the best

We walk around

Trying to make sense

Of everything that's happened

Our bonds grow stronger

As we look to others for support

We come together not only as a nation

But as a community of family and friends

We mourn the loss of those we don't know

And pray for God to help the rest

It's not clear if everything is over

And the answer will not be positive

Until the next couple days pass

So as we go on about our day

Remember in your hearts and prayers

All the people who lost their lives

And the survivors of this tragedy

"The Aftermath"

With all of these thoughts

And all of these emotions

Running through our mind

We walk around each day

Trying to sort things out

Some have rage

Others have fear

We all have sorrow

For those who were lost

We try to return to normal

But what does that mean now

Our nation changed forever

In a matter of hours

We can never return

To how it was before

We mourn for our fellow Americans

And pray for our nation

So we all pull together

In the days following

While we rebuild our country
