Forethought
Today, more and more people are preplanning their funerals. Preplanning, or prearranging, is simply taking care of your service details before the need arises. Working together with a Funeral Planning Professional, who has special training and experience, you can be sure these details are taken care of.

These could include whether you would like a traditional funeral or a simple memorial service; a burial or cremation. It also includes making decisions ahead of time on specific items, such as place, types of decorations, people you would like to notify, flowers, clothing, and other things that are important to you.
Why Preplan?

Make your wishes known
Your family and friends dont have to guess what you want when you share your thoughts with them. And, you can be sure youll get the service you planned for.
Preplanning can help you determine exactly how much you want to spend on specific details you would like honored and remembered.

Personalize your service
Create a positive celebration of your life. With preplanning, those close to you will know what you would like highlighted about your life, so they can commemorate the real you.

Be satisified, knowing you have relieved an emotional burden for your family

Planning a special service after losing a loved one is never easy. It is a highly emotional time and brings added stress to those you love, especially when they dont know your final wishes.
How do you Preplan?

Its as easy as A-B-C!!!

A. Collect Personal Information
This includes gathering all the facts that you will want people to remember; your biographical information, career, hobbies, family and friends. You can include any other special interests you have to help make your service even more meaningful.

B. Making Arrangements
When ready, you can sit down with your Funeral Planning Professional who can explain the various options available. This information will help you begin to make decisions on your choice of service and any other ideas you may have for your remembrance.
A statement of your service selections will be kept with your Funeral Planning Professional until needed.

C. Funeral prices, like other things, increase over time. By prefunding at todays prices, you can be assured that the money will be there to cover tomorrows funeral costs.

Prefunding can also help relieve that financial burden on those close to you. Handling the costs of a funeral, and possibly overspending because they werent certain of your wishes, can be extremely stressful. Knowing your wishes ahead of time allows your loved ones to just focus on remembering you and celebrating your life.
There are a variety of prefunding options available. Your Funeral Planning Professional would welcome the opportunity to sit down and go through these with you.

Give the Gift of Peace!!!
With both preplanning and prefunding, you can rest assured that your life will be remembered exactly how you want it to be.

Kathi O'Shaughnessy
Pre-Arrangement Consultant
Having  been involved in funeral business for over 30 years,
I have come to realize that pre-arrangement is a much
smarter and more cost effective way to approach a funeral whether it is for yourself or for a loved one. Arranging a funeral at-need is always so stressful for those who have taken on the responsibility and for those who have to try to figure how they are going to fund the funeral whether it is direct cremation or a full service with a burial at a cemetery. My job is to help make these selections more informed and within the realm of what you can afford.
