Today we worked on the Earth is Our Home try-it. We did all kinds of things. The girls learned about how some cleaners could be harmful to the earth and we made homemade cleaners. Recipes below. We talked about recycling , saving energy and earth hour. We made made bird feeders to help the animals around us. All they need is some seed! And in an effort to help our community and recycle we’re helping the Library collect DVD’s for a new movie collection they’d like to have at Homer Library.

The girls also tossed around ideas for a special cookie money outing and voted on it. More information to come!

The Homer Public Library is asking for donations of Children’s or Family DVD movies to begin a new collection available for check-out at the library. Troop 282 would like to help them and are asking all of our families to bring any used DVD’s that you don’t watch anymore to our next meeting. After we collect as many as we can, as a troop we’ll deliver them to the library. Don’t be shy, ask your friends and families if they have any to donate as well. Thanks for all your help! If we collect at least 80 DVD’s we’ll go out for ice cream after we drop the movies off! I will also ask our service unit and school for help!
