I was born on December 13, 1991 at Bunda Hospital, Jakarta exactly at 10.13 AM. It was Friday the thirteenth! My dad and my mom, gave me a great name: Adil (=just) and Mochtar (=the elected person). I hope I will be the elected just person, just like my name. However, my little sister calls me Tata'.
Only when I was 8 months old, on August 20, 1992 my dad went to IIT, Chicago-USA to pursue his Master's degree. I was only with my mom for about 9 months in Jakarta, before we joined my dad to Chicago in June 1993. There, I went to many interesting places: Field Museum, Science and Industry Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium. I also went around the lake of Michigan for three days. It was amazing because it was the first time I camped. My friends were Steve (mom's babysitting child), mbak Pipit (om Tunggul's daughter),mas Adji (pak Slameto's son), Salman, Ilham, and Melissa (pak Syafedi's children). I came back to Indonesia as my dad graduated in May 1994.
In Jakarta, living with my parents and grandma (Ibu) makes me a little spoiled. I always get everything I want from Ibu. My lovely little sister was born in 1996. From July 1995 to June 1997 I went to 'Kasih Ibu' Kindergarten, Cipete. I remember that my teacher was Bu Tiniek (TK-A) and Bu Wayong (TK-B). In July 1997 I went to 'Yapenka" elementary school, Cipete. However, only three weeks at that school, I have to leave to Chicago-USA, because my dad is pursuing his PhD at IIT. I dont want to be away from my dad!
Back to Chicago, I am very excited. I have to learn English from the beginning again. I went to Robert Healy elementary school, Chicago. My teacher in kindergarten was Ms. Wright (room 132). She was a very straight and good teacher. In the first grade gifted class, my teacher was Ms. Nakayama (room 220), a very nice and soft-speaking teacher. She says that I am a good artist, but I am talking too much in the classroom. In the second grade gifted class, my teacher is Mrs. Nakayama (room 222). My best friends are Amir, Mahmoud, Bryant, Aaron, Lindsey, Jason, and Debbie. I like playing snow in winter and playing bicycle in summer. My favorite food is cheese burger (Burger King or McDonald), and Hong Min Restaurant's fried rice. My favorite toy are Buzz Lightyear, and Godzilla. I like to watch TV, especially WTTW-PBS channel 11 and channel 26, where I can watch Digimon, Nature programs, Goosebumps, Arthur, Teletubbies, Zoom, Theodore(Tugboat), and Pok'emon. I love Pokemon music!! I like to play computer games such as "The Need for Speed", "Moto Racer", "Arthur's Computer Adventure" and "Titanic". My favorite movies are "Toy Story", "October Sky", and "Bats". OK, it's time for homework! Bye!
Back to Indonesia in 2000, I
am very excited. I have to learn Bahasa Indonesia from the beginning
again. I went to Islamic School Dwimatra in MPR Complex, Cilandak. My
teacher was Pak Sholeh(third grade), Pak Nehru (fourth grade), Pak Ikhsan (fifth grade), and Pak Purwanto (sixth grade). They are all very
good teacher. When I graduated in 2004, I am the best student in art! My best friend is Nicko. We together develop a website.
