Ramble Number 15
Well after spending a day at the NSU
campus...I realized just how much certain people can touch one's
life. I'll get back to that. First I wanna tell you why I
spent the day on NSU's campus.
In May of 2003 I became a Jaycee! I love it. We sure have a
good time. So anyway...NSU was having an Activites Fair to show
the students what the Campus and town have to offer. So the
Jaycee's got a table and tried to encourage people to check us
out. (We are having a Mexican Fiesta on October 24th at
7pm...Come check us out!! I'm serious! It will be a really
good time. $3 for all the food and drinks you can handle!)
Ok so I have established the reason for me spending an entire AM on the
NSU Campus.
So at NSU - other than trying to gain new Jaycee Members -
I ran into two professors - Kim and Donelan. They both think that
I should go into their fields. Its really a good feeling to have
two college professors believe so adimately in me. Its really
encouraging. The funny thing is that
Professor Kim - deals with MIS (Management Information Systems) and
Dr. Donelan - deals with Sociology.
Its pretty cool though because I completely understand both equally
well.
Its just really cool how some people have such and impact on ones
life. I am sure you all can think of people like that. I
have been really blessed to know the people that believe in me.
Both Kim and Donelan tell me that I would do so well if I just applied
myself. I think I really need to start believing in myself more -
but thats another Ramble all together. I really enjoy both
professors and I am determined to get back into school in January and
take classes with both of them.
In High School I had a teacher like that...Mrs. Flaherty. I could
relate to her and I was never embarassed to talk to her about anything
and everything that was bothering me. She is one incredible,
strong and influential woman!
I love the feeling of encouragement! Its - well -
encouraging!! LOL - Duh!
Well I hope someday that I have the same impact on someone as these
people have had on me.
