THE HEALING PRESENCE OF THE LORD

Lesson Three                 LETTING JESUS HEAL
There are different reasons why people might not get healed, and we may not ever know truly why. But there are some things we must consider that will bring results and let Jesus heal. Some people are continually looking at the problem rather than looking to Jesus our Savior and Healer. In Numbers 21:6-9 we read: 6 The LORD sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people, so that many people of Israel died. 7 So the people came to Moses and said, "We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded for the people.

8 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live."

9 And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
NASU
Jesus spoke of this in John 3:14 and He said this: John 3:14-15
14 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;

15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life. NASU
Remember now that heal is what we are look for. In order to get that we must look to the one who is the healer, Jesus. Many times our problem is our focus and not Jesus. The writer of Hebrews writes this: Heb 12:1-3
12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary and lose heart. NAS
We must fix our eyes on Jesus, just as the children of Israel look to the bronze serpent that was lifted up on a pole. They had to look to it in faith to receive their healing. Jesus referred to the in John 3:14 and 15. I believe He obviously implied that the bronze serpent typified His being raised up on the cross. The healing, both physical, and spiritual come form looking to and identifying with Jesus Christ crucified. His death, burial, and resurrection bring life to those who look to Him and believe He is the son of God. I Peter 2:24 said this:
24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. NAS
Isaiah 53 reads as such: Isa 53:4-5
4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. NIV

Letting Jesus heal is looking to Him in faith, in doing that the presence of the Lord comes in power. The power of the Lord will be presence to let Jesus heal for the healing is in the atonement. It is the Fathers will that healing come to those that look to Jesus in this manner. Most all people who are ill want to be healed. But all do not look to Jesus with such a desire to see Him, they look at the thing that has come upon them. Some saying why did God let these sicknesses come to me, blaming God for it. This keeps one from seeing Jesus as the healer that He is, and keeping Jesus at a distance. Jesus needs to be close to you in your belief. Just as the woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years was healed because she knew if she could only touch the fringe of His cloak she would be healed (Matthew 9:20-22), we must touch Jesus and we will only know how to touch if we look at Him. The woman saw Jesus in the multitude of people and she went after Him. Go after Jesus fixing your eyes on Him for He is the author and perfecter of our faith. Our faith brings healing.
Letting Jesus heal also means we are willing to let Him do it His way, not as we think He should. As you read the Gospels you read about how Jesus ministered healing. He minister in different ways, but central to all is looking to him in faith. We worship Him, bow down to Him giving Him the glory and honor due Him.
1. Look to Jesus
2. Worship Jesus
3. Give Jesus the glory and honor due him
4. Press in to touch Him
5. Focus on Jesus not the problem
6. Ask Jesus to heal
7. Praise and worship The Father for His Son and the saving and healing power of the atonement gift that He gave to us who believe.
8. Pray and talk to the Father in Jesus name.

Letting Jesus heal comes more readily when we draw near to God. James 4:7-8
7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. NASU
Drawing near to God brings the healing presence of God, the power to heal will be there.
I was ministering in Guyana, South America, in this evening meeting where I was preaching on healing; The power of God to heal. The worship was powerful; the presence of the Lord was there among us. We had been worshiping for over an hour then I gave the message. The power of the Lord was there; prophetic words were spoken about healing to come. I had a word of knowledge about someone that had aides. A young woman came forward. I walk toward her to lay hand on her and speak healing in the name of Jesus. I was just about three feet from her when the healing power of God hit her, she went flying back three or four feet and landed on her back no one caught her, I had not touch her, Jesus did. She was out under the Spirit God for quite a while. God had healed her. She was set free.
We have to let the word of God take mastery over our minds. Until Gods Word gains mastery over your mind, your mind will be swayed by feelings and by things you see or hear, rather than the Word of God. Jesus is the Word. John chapter one tells us this: John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. NASU
It is by being filled with Him, His Word and Spirit, His own life, that Jesus Himself becomes our life. Then His presence and power surrounds us and the power of the Lord to heal delivers from the infirmities and pains. Proverbs 4:20-23 gives the most comprehensive directions on how to be healed. Proverbs 4:20-23
20 My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
21 Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.
23 Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life. NASU
Do you want to receive life and healing from God?
Then take time to find the words of Scripture that promise these results, letting Jesus heal.
