Civil War Newspaper
Your assignment is to create a Civil War newspaper.  The first thing you must do is think of a name for you paper.  Next you will need to write 5 articles for your paper.  They are explained below.

1.  Battle Report -You must give a field report on a major battle.  Be sure to describe the battle in detail including location, terrain, strategies used, Generals, casualties, and which side won the battle. 

2. 
Biography - You should write a biography about someone from the Civil War.  It can be a General, soldier,  woman, slave, etc.  It must be a real person. 

3. 
Editorial - An editorial is an article that the writer gives his or her opinion on something.  You should take a stance on a Civil War issue and defend it in this article. 

4. 
Creative Article - You are free to choose your topic for this article.  Some examples are:  weapons of the Civil War, food of the Civil War, Africian Americans in the Civil War, women's role in the Civil War, music and art of the Civil War, etc. 

5. 
Puzzle - You need to include at least one puzzle in you newspaper.  It can be a word find, crossword puzzle, etc.  Word finds must have at least 20 words, crosswords must be at least 15 questions.  The theme should be Civil War.

Misc. Things - You newspaper must have at least 5 pictures,  2 classfied ads and a table of contents.  The paper may be in black and white or color. 
Due Date:  3/20/2007
5 points per day will be deducted for each day a project is late!!  Weekends count 10 points off!!
