November Student of the Month

Calista Roen

The November Student of the Month is Calista Roen.  Calista is the daughter of Wayne and Kristine Roen of Mantorville.

Academically, Calista has achieved a 4.0 grade point average over her high school career which has also earned her honor roll status.  She is ranked first in her senior class of 142 students. 

In school, Calista has kept herself busy with sports and clubs including soccer (captain), dance team (captain), softball, choir (President), band, jazz band, student council (Vice President), and National Honor Society. 

Outside of school, Calista has kept herself busy with bible study, Sunday school teacher, the Mayo Explorer Program, and working at the Byron Dairy Queen over the summer.

One philosophy Calista felt has helped her be successful in and out of school is the belief that you should “let go and let God”. 

After graduation Calista hopes to attend the College of St. Benedict’s and major in Biology with the goal of becoming a pediatrician.
