Quenya
As those of you who know me will know by now, I've been learning Elvish for some time. I decided in the beginning to learn Quenya, as it was basically the first one I came across. This is basically just a useful phrase list - there are better word lists, but I've tried to compile all the phrase lists I've come across. Note - this is JUST Quenya, there is no Sindarin as I don't learn it.

You can translate your name into Quenya very simply. There are many wordlists hanging about - such as at http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/wordlists.htm are usefully available for download. Basically, whatever your name means (i.e., Katherine means pure), look it up in one of these dictionaries, and that's your name in Quenya. Alternatively, you can visit one of these Elvish Name Generator sites, such as: http://www.chriswetherell.com/elf/ - but these are basically just random choices - quite nice though. According to this place, my elvish name is Tri Ancalmon - which in Quenya means Queen Royal...heh heh. Otherwise, my translated Elvish name is Poica.

I've recently had a go at constructing my own sentences into Quenya - this is my writing, if any Quenya experts are reading this and note any flaws in my grammar or anywhere else, I'd happily receive the criticism.

"Ter cuilnya iny tela mas selernya. Iny tev mas tihtanya. Iny puita s, i an quetiny tulter sa naicel n raica. Si inynaicela er. Mas vanwanya i sinnya."

Merin sa haryalye alasse Quenya Nl!!!
