| I've just seen an advert here on Japanese tv, it starts off with a group of young lads playing football, the ball is kicked long and hits an old man with a walking stick on the head, the man looks around as the opening chords of Jumping jack flash starts ...'I was born in a cross fire hurricane'... the old man drops his stick, takes on the whole feild of footballers and dose a spectactular sissor kick sending the ball speeding towards the advertisers logo..................the old man is Sir Bobby Charlton and he is advertising Kirin beer 04.5.01 |

| I miss grass...............no, not the herbal kind ( but I am missing that ) but grass grass, I've been playing quite a bit of football since moving here and it's all dirt pitch here , artificial surface there and it's crap, the bounce, the roll of the ball and the feel under foot is totally different, although I am getting a handle on it, it's not the same, the beautiful game should be played on a beautiful surface. I would never have thought after traveling so far from home the first thing I would miss is something most of us take for granted. 01.6.01 |
