At the headquarters of the Hong Kong Red Cross Society at King's Park,
Kowloon, there is an ex - London Transport DMS-class Daimler Fleetline parked at the side of the car park, the bus, which is the first mobile blood transfusion service vehicle in Hong Kong. The bus, was formerly London Transport's DM1227 (KUC 227P), and it was one of the Daimler Fleetlines bought by Citybus during 1981, and later the bus was donated to the Hong Kong Red Cross Society by Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank Corporation. Although it is a mobile blood transfusion service vehicle, but its body still carrying a D47 fleet number of Citybus. In Mechanically, the bus have converted from Leyland O680 engine to Gardner 6LX engine due to sources of parts in Hong Kong. On its bodywork, offside driving cab door have installed due to the design, for this, the parking brake of the bus has been relocated on the left of the driver's seat. Front entrance has been deleted. In the interior, on upstairs, six beds has been fitted for blood transfusion. Downstairs, the front part has converted as a staff room, the rear part of the bus has converted to a bar for the staff. An American made Stone air-conditioning system has been fitted under the staircase, it is powered by the generator that towed by the bus, due to this reason, the bus cannot be registrated in Hong Kong. The generator also supplying power to the other electronic accessories on the bus, such as lighting system and coffee pot. 在香港紅十字會位於九龍京士柏的總部的停車場裡面，停泊了一部前倫敦運輸局的DMS系列的丹拿
Fleetline巴士，這部巴士，便是紅十字會在香港的第一部流動捐血車。 這部巴士，前身為倫敦運輸局的DM1227，車牌KUC227P ，隨後在1981年便被香港的城巴購入，在 抵港之後，巴士沒有出牌，隨即便透過香港及上海匯豐銀行，把巴士捐給香港的紅十字會。雖然巴士 並未試過在城巴車隊內服役，但車上帶有D47的城巴車隊編號。 在抵港之後，巴士因為零件供應問題而從利蘭的O680引擎改裝為吉拿6LX引擎。車身改裝方面，在 車身的右邊裝上了駕駛艙門，而為了遷就這個設計，其停車手掣被移往駕駛席的左邊。巴士的前門亦 被一個客窗取代。 在車廂方面，上層車廂裝有六個床位，以方便市民捐血。在下層車廂，前半部是員工其休息室，後 半部是茶水間。在樓梯的底部，裝有一部來自美國的Stone空調系統，這部空氣機是由巴士的拖卡上的 發電機提供，由於這個拖卡的關系，巴士並不能在香港登記。這部發電機，亦提供電力給車上其他的 設施如照明系統及水煲等。 這部巴士已經被其他新的單層巴士取代，並停泊在紅十字會位於九龍京士柏的總部的停車場裡面。 多謝屋村縱橫提供資料。 |
