One lonesome tear falls From two wandering eyes Beyond the car window Darkness repeats what happened tonight One lonesome tear falls It brings back sweet remembrance of you The night was to short The hours were to few One lonesome tear falls From two wandering eyes That melody ringing in my ear Makes pain that's so hard to bear One lonesome tear falls As the remembrance captures My pounding heart For the one I have love, I have part One lonesome tear falls My hand, it wipes it away For I do see the coming joy Of another day
One Lonesome Tear by Jennifer Osterlund
This poem was written about a friend I don't get to see very often. But when I do it is a joyous occasion. Yet even though the time is short-lived, It's a memory that I cherish forever. And even though there is sorrow in not always being able to see the one's you love, there is hope for the next time you can see that person again.
