| Nonsense: The Battle of the Sexes |
| It's an age old debate. The Battle of the sexes. Complete nonsense in my mind. How catty can we get? Have we become so egotistical as to quarrel over the most stupidist things, such as "Who's the better driver?" Give me a break! I guess I can't completely blame people for their stereotypes about the opposite gender. It's something our culture has adopted. Little girls/boys hear all this nonsense about the opposite gender from their mothers/fathers & the culture around them, and they become "brainwashed" into believing what they hear is true. But can't we as people get a backbone, and start thinking for ourselves, instead of following the same old bandwagon? I don't always understand the opposite gender, but I try to. And if I still don't get them, that's fine. I just embrace the difference. It makes life a whole lot easier and more enjoyable, instead of getting annoyed over some dumb little thing. In fact some of my best friends have been guys. It's nice to get a different point of view on things, to be able to ask questions about the opposite gender, and learn to understand them more. In my opinion we are equals. Not in the sense that we're the same, but that we compliment eachother. Where one lacks the other fills in the gaps. We make up for each others insufficiencies. I think if we get this little diddy in our heads we'd start getting along a lot better. |
