This season (2005) has been one of the best season this team has had. We played 12 games and won 10 of them. Grant it that we only had four teams this year, but we all had fun.
They printed the team picture in the Kentucky New Era on Friday July 8, 2005. I think it's a shame that they didn't send a reporter out to any of our games. They had several articles in the paper for the Little League games. It's like we don't exist in this town. That only a few of the parents know that there is even a Babe Ruth League. I just wonder how many more young men would love to play if they only knew that they have such a league. Now I have learned that there is such a thing as a Senior Babe Ruth League, which this town does not have.
We don't have professional pictures taken in the Babe Ruth League so I took it upon myself to do the pictures for the team.
I'm nobody special, I just happen to be one of the mom's. My son, Michael Grace, tried out for the high school and was not picked. Thank goodness for Babe Ruth. I was able to keep him in baseball one more year. He has played baseball since he was five years old. I am sure that there are more teens out there in the same situation. Love to play, has dreams of playing in the major leagues, and hasn't been picked to play for the high school team. My hopes and prayers are out there for any teenager wanting to play.
Babe Ruth and Little League team signup is in February of every year. The Babe Ruth league plays about 2 months. The Litlle Leagues play about 3 1/2 months. The Babe Ruth League doesn't have play offs but the Little Leagues do.
I'm hoping that next season I will be able to do team photos for all the teams. I have a business name of Starlite Studios that I will be using.
