Katwesige Margret
Katwesige Margret was born May 12, 1983 in Hoima district in Uganda. She went to school at St. Mary�s primary school where she started learning English as a second language. She attended school for six and a half years.
In 1995 she went to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, to work as a house girl. She worked in Kampala for four and a half years. During her working time, she discovered her interest in writing. She wrote a diary of her lifestyle, which she wishes to publish in the future, and from then on, a pen has never left her hands.
In 1999 at age sixteen, she left Kampala and went back to her hometown with her dream of becoming a writer. A month later, she came to America, also to work as a house girl for a family of five. In 2001 her half brother died; his life story is an inspiration for this story, Mother�s Secrets. Katwesige lives in Bethesda, Maryland. She is currently attending school for her high school diploma, and she�s working on her second novel, Tearing Us Apart.
