  What's new on the WMA-ZONE?
7 minutes and 5 seconds of EXCLUSIVE WMA files!  We encode files that others don't.  Instead of just another song that you can find a million places else where, in this zone we strive for originality, so that person find that file that can be found nowhere else in this format.
Excuse me, I ally linked this to the "MIDI-ZONE".  It now links to the "WMA-ZONE", just like it says.

My WebPages History

Pre-History

  • It all began on Christmas (of 1999) when my friend showed me his website.  At the time, I was eager to make my own website.  I've also heard of HTML, but I didn't really know what it was.  After searching the web for help, I discovered too much to learn.  There was a whole language you needed to know to make web pages.  This discouraged me and I was wondering how many hours people spend type this stuff!  Then I found a program called FrontPage 2000 already installed on my computer.  After 10 minutes of use, I already completed my first (offline) web page.  I was ready to build a website.

*-*-* Cities and Places Online *-*-* (The past)

  • v1.0

    • My first (online) website was full of copyrighted material.  In fact, the only thing that was not copyrighted was the HTML.  All the backgrounds and images were stolen from Microsoft Plus! Themes.  The midis were stolen from Sierra's 3D Ultra Mini game.  Thanks to FrontPage 2000, I began working on what is called Dynamic HTML (a.k.a. DHTML).  Although it was cool, it made the page harder to read.  As version 1.x moves on, it gets really hard to read.  There were no visitors, somehow back then, I didn't get it and continued.

    • So-called (THeMeSoNG) for this version

      • Dinosaur - From Sierra's 3D Ultra Mini .

  • v1.1

    • By February, the website no longer used Windows Plus! backgrounds, it used (modified) PlayStation.com backgrounds.  No longer did I have those copyrighted game midis.  I finally took the chance to spend time getting midis from the internet.  All the midis I had were either TV/Movie or Game.  As far I remember, I had about 120 midis.

    • So-called (THeMeSoNG) for this version

      • Weird Science

  • v1.2

    • This time the animations got way out of control, sucking up 32 MB of RAM!  In other words, if you had a old computer (like 1997 or 1998), your computer would of been ... until you restart your computer.  I had five cites described on my website (that why it was called Cities and Places Online).  (screenshot)

    • So-called (THeMeSoNG) for this version

  • v2.0

    • A whole new face of Cites and Places Online emerged as being as one of the most complex sites on Yahoo! GeoCities, when talking about the HTML code.  The Dynamic HTML was often used, without distracting stuff going on.  The number of GIF files were cut down for the sake of saving someone's computer.  The navigation bar was awesome, but I didn't make Netscape compatible.  The theme here was to create a really futuristic site, and it was.  There were 120+ midis on the site (midis made up most of Cities and Places Online).

    • So-called (THeMeSoNG) for this version

  • v 2.1

    • Even more complex and yet a better navigation bar, this version was by far totally impossible for me to build if I didn't have FrontPage 2000; without it, it would take me (as I estimated) 5000 hours {by the way, what kind of person would wanna?}.  More DHTML was used (courtesy of FP2000).  But after all that the page took ages to load on a 36.6 K connection.  I stopped building websites at April 20, 2000.  (screenshot)

    • So-called (THeMeSoNG) for this version

MP4 : Generation

  • v1.0 - v4.0

    • After 4 months of nothing, I decided to take another attempt.  No more cities and places info that nobody needs to know.  Now it's all about music!   Yet after four attempts, the plan went almost KaBLaM!

  • v6.0

    • When I began building my next version (MP4 Generation somehow skipped version 5) I soon got visitors (thanks to GeoCities all new search engine).  123 visits in a few weeks after launch.  The page was static, yet it didn't matter.  No big image files that ate up your ram; this site loaded 15 times faster, but no cool navigation bar either.  (screenshot)

  • v7.0

    • This new version is one I didn't like too much, so plans continued on to version 8.0  (screenshot)

  • v8.0

    • This site keeps on getting better.  Partly based on Mike Cao's Winamp skin, the Spy Amp, the all new MP4 Generation has all the original midis plus more links, a faq page, and a lots more!  (screenshot)

Windows Media Central

  • 1.0

    • After surfing on the internet, I found something quite better than this "MP4", Windows Media Audio!  This site will be (and may be is) GeoCities' largest archive of WMA files.

  • 2.0

    • Growth has slowed quite a bit (excluding page visits, there were over 1800 page views up to that time).  The website has a new enhanced background, but that's about it.  (screenshot)

  • 3.0

    • Again, growth has slowed quite a bit (just in the midi-zone) (this doesn't mean I'm giving up).  The website has a better layout design (a combination of both versions 1.0 and 2.0), but that's about it.  Midis haven't been added for a while.  (screenshot)

  • 3.1.1

    • Version 3.1 is not much different.  The only differences are is the makeover of the (HUB) at the top of the page and the addition of new Holiday midis.  It seems much calmer now than it was during Cities and Places Online.

  • 3.1.2

    • Windows Media Central is now part of TopCities.com and is now taking advantage of 150 MB of free web space!!!  The question is, "am I sure I'm going to use it all?"
